Abstract: Hot dip galvanizing can effectively prevent the corrosion of steel. With the increasing demand of industry for steel strip, higher requirements are put forward for stable and continuous operation of submerged roller bearings in hot dip galvanizing line. The existing sliding bearings for sink roll of galvanizing line mainly depend on imports, and their service life is about two weeks. Two weeks later, the sliding bearing failed, so it is necessary to stop the line and replace the new bearing, wasting a lot of material cost and time cost. In this paper, zinc liquid corrosion test, high temperature pin-and-disc dry friction test and corrosion wear test were carried out on the materials of sliding bearing pair of submerged roller, mainly alumina ceramic bushing and three kinds of metal sleeves (alloy A, alloy B and 316L stainless steel) under simulated actual working conditions. The status of corrosion and wear in bearing failure was compared and analyzed, and the hydrodynamic lubrication effect formed by zinc liquid under test conditions was considered, and the main failure mechanism was comprehensively analyzed.

Abstract: The article substantiates consistent patterns of wear at the example of microcutting materials in sliding bearings in dependence to grain sizes of abrasive cloths and hardness of bearing layers received with the use of vibroacoustic diagnostics and the method of artificial bases (MAB) in testing on the SMC-2 frictional machine. These patterns can be helpful for the assessment of quality and selection of materials for products [1,2], selection of the friction model [3], and selection of abrasive cloths for the diagnostics of the latter and assessment of the running-in period for the top coating.

Abstract: Strip casting of Al-40%Sn-1%Cu, which is an aluminum alloy used for sliding bearings, was attempted using an unequal diameter twin roll caster. The conditions required to cast sound strips, including the roll speed, molten temperature, roll load, solidification length, melt head, and use of an upper plate, were investigated. The roll load required to make a stable strip surface was 0.01 kN/mm, and the porosity was minimum when the solidification time was less than 0.6 s. The solidification time was controlled by the roll speed and the solidification length. The casting temperature must be set below 670°C to properly solidify the molten metal, and the metal microstructure became finer as the melt head decreased.

Abstract: For the purpose of preparing stern bearings adapted to water-lubricating environment to replace natural lignumvitae, preparing bearings with solid lubricant of electromechanical equipment applied in some industries such as textile, food and healthcare to replace sintered bronze, and preparing advanced automotive upholstery, appliance and artware to replace natural rosewood and ox bone, three published patents including “a preparation method of artificial lignumvitae” were used to prepare artificial lignumvitae with a better wear resistance than natural lignumvitae. As the materials for sliding bearing, the main performance of artificial lignumvitae meets the requirement for sintered bronze FZ2365. It explores a new way to develop functional biomass materials with wood waste in urban and rural area while ensure its high quality and cleanness.

Abstract: By applying new warm compaction forming technology of wood power developed through material forming theories in some interdisciplines such as applied science of wood and powder metallurgy, cotton stalk powder (CSP) was used as base material to prepare CSP/Al composite material of which the modulus of rupture and internal bond strength could be up to 83.95MPa and 6.82MPa respectively, wear resistance was 0.05g/100r and water absorption 0.65%. The sliding bearings made of the composite materials had a crushing strength and an apparent hardness up to 91.22MPa and HB51.1 separately. They are expected to replace sintered bronze of powder metallurgy in producing sliding bearings for light textile machinery so as to reduce the usage of nonferrous metal. The application of CSP/Al composite material explores a new way to use wood residuum in agriculture and forestry and ensure its high quality and cleanness.

Abstract: In order to study the effect of oil-air lubrication on traditional sliding bearing, the experiments oil-air lubrication and oil lubrication have been done by using friction-abrasion testing machine. By means of measuring friction moment, the temperature rise of two different lubrication systems in the same conditions and studying the friction moment and the temperature rise of oil-air lubrication and oil lubrication with different load at the same rotating speed level, the results obtained show that when rotating speed and oil supply is at 210rpm and 1.4L/h level, the friction moment of traditional sliding bearing with oil lubrication increases significantly after the load 900N, and when rotating speed, oil supply and air pressure is at 210rpm , 30ml/h and 0.25MPa level, the friction moment of traditional sliding bearing with oil-air lubrication increases significantly after the load 1500N. The friction moment of oil-air lubrication and oil lubrication is almost the same before the load 900N, and after the load 900N, the friction moment of oil-air lubrication is much lower than the oil lubrication. The oil-air lubrication temperature rise is much lower than the oil lubrication in traditional sliding bearing with the same experimental conditions.

Abstract: In this paper, the analyzing and modeling of the friction coefficient in sliding bearing is reported. Based on the grey system theory, the effects of rotational speed and load on the friction coefficient of the sliding bearings are investigated. The grey relational grade is an important parameter to measure the effects of rotational speed and load on friction coefficient of the sliding bearings. The grey relational grade analysis shows that load has an even more significant effect upon the friction coefficient compared with rotational speed. On the basis of analyzing and processing the experimental data, a nonlinear model for friction coefficient of a sliding bearing have been set up by NARMAX Non-Linear Auto-Regressive Moving Average with Exogenous Input. It was found that the NARMAX Non-Linear model has good accuracy and is applicable for the calculation of friction coefficient in sliding bearing.
