Abstract: Fluid drag is an important phenomenon at solid-liquid interface. In nano/microfluidics, it has significant importance due to small surface to volume ratio. Slip at the interface is an important phenomenon which reduces the friction at the interface. In this study we have proposed a more general theoretical model for the slip induced magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) flow across parallel plates. We have analyzed the effect of slip parameter on the velocity and the flow rate across parallel plates. The effect of magnetic field on velocity and the flow rate has also been discussed. Our results show satisfactory agreement with the previously conducted experimental and analytical studies. In this paper, we have briefly discussed and compared the new model with the existing experimental and theoretical studies.

Abstract: The annealed AZ31 magnesium alloy with 400°C and 1.5hour was selected and compressed under different deformation amount. The orientation and microstructure were investigated too. The results shown that the twinning type and amount changed the orientation of new grain after compressed largely. The tension twinning made the orientation deviated form TD to ED in the {10-10} pole figure, but contraction and double twinning mad the orientation concentrated in the TD.

Abstract: Slip is a semifluid clayey type of material used in the ceramic industry for coating earthware products, such as bricks and tiles, thus providing distinct surface colors or patterns. In the present work a characterization was conducted to identify the mineralogical as well the chemical and physical properties of geological materials existing in the slip used by industries in the north region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The basic natural materials composing a slip, namely clay and kaolin, are responsible for changes not only the slip plasticity but also in its viscosity and adhesion to the surface of the ceramic piece. The slip characterization was performed in terms of particle size analysis, Atterberg limits and actual grain density. The chemical composition was obtained by X-ray fluorescence and the thermal properties by differential thermal analysis. The results indicated that marked differences exist between slip from distinct origins. A few slip samples failed to present the required properties.

Abstract: Critical clearing time index is one of the indices to assess transient voltage stability. At present it is mainly calculated based on the instantaneous value after transient voltage instability or the steady state valueafer fault clearing time. So a new method to estimate the critical clearing time is presented which is correspongding to the induction motor minimum slipvalue in the fault. It can forecasttransient voltage instability, and has higher precision comparing whithquik criterion and analytical method. The simulation results of IEEE 30-bus system verify the effectiveness of the stated method. .CLC number: TM 73 Document code: A Article ID: 000-3673(2013)00-0000-00

Abstract: The shear property of the thermoelectric material Bi2Te3 is inextricably linked with its layer structure. By the molecular dynamics method, the mechanism of shearing deformation was studied in this paper. In the simulation, cubic single-crystal simulation cells with different layer directions inside were adopted, ensuring that the c axis of crystal lattice can be along, across and 45o deviated from the shear stress. Compared with all the calculation models, the results show that when the shear stress increases, slip occurs along the Te1-Te1 adjacent layers which are connected by the weak van der Waals bonding, and ultimately leads to structural fracture. Furthermore, size effect and loading modes can also impact the behavior of shearing deformation, however, in very different ways. Future efforts should be focused on the influence of the creation and motion of defects during the deformation as well as temperature effect and strain rate effect.

Abstract: Composite slab is being used for horizontal structures. The sheeting can serve as a permanent formwork and no additional reinforcement can be required. The slabs are then fast and easy assemble construction which can be effectively used in reconstructions. One of the meanings to assure composite action of composite steel-concrete slabs is prepressed embossments. Its main disadvantage is that the design of a new type of sheeting requires expensive and time consuming large-scale laboratory testing which hamper its widespread commercial usage. Small-scale shear tests present a less expensive alternative to the large-scale tests but its results cannot be simply used for the design of the whole slab. The results from small-scale tests with different options are compared in this paper. Also a possibility of contribution of FE simulation results to the small-scale tests usage is investigated.

Abstract: The slip-judgment method of threshold value was made for all-wheel independent electric drive vehicle through the analysis of the relationship of steering kinematics, which based on detecting speed and current of wheel-motor. The speed coordinated control of motor was used as synchronous control method. Models of vehicle dynamics and synchronous control were respectively constructed in Adams and Matlab/Simulink, which composed the model of mechanical-electric collaborative simulation. The synchronous control process of vehicle that running on bisectional road was analyzed, the result shows that synchronous control based on power control strategy reduces slip-wheel motors power consumption and increases other motors output power and torque through reducing the motor speed to average speed of normal wheel-motor. Improves the traction performance and stability of vehicle, also reduces the wheel wear and drivers control difficulty. The method has advantages of low cost, wide applicability, good controllability, high reliability etc., provide the reference of synchronization technology for independent electric drive military vehicle.

Abstract: The slips on packer play an important role on supporting packer and locking rubber tube after they have been anchored, and their performance directly affects the oil yield and production safety. In this paper, the contact between a type of packer slips and casing is analyzed using the finite element software Abaqus, the stress and displacement fringe graphs of the casing under working conditions are obtained, and it offers the guidance on optimal design for packer slips.

Abstract: This work mainly studied the effects of hot extrusion on microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of Mg-5Li-3Al-2Zn alloy. The results show that the microstructures of as-cast and as-extruded alloys both consist of α-Mg matrix and lamellar eutectic structure (α-Mg and AlLi phases). During the hot extrusion, the large eutectic structure of as-cast alloy was crushed into small eutectic structure and the grains were effectively refined. A {0002} basal texture was formed after hot extrusion. The as-extruded alloy exhibits remarkably improved tensile properties, which is mainly attributed to the grain refinement and the formation of texture.

Abstract: Through the vibration table testing, with the pine furniture model, the distance between the model and wall, as well as the experimental load and acceleration as the main research parameter. Research on the following aspects: (1) the effect of interaction on distance between the furniture and the wall of the influence of the interaction, (2) the interaction between furniture sliding, mobile and the wall, and the relationship between the test load frequency, acceleration, etc, (3) influence of furniture size on furniture sliding, mobile, etc. The results revealed that sliding volume increases as the frequency decreases significantly after the model collides with the wall; when the frequency increases, the movement of the monomer decreases. When the furniture is apart from the walls in a certain distance, the collision between them is prevented, and the movement of the models which collides the object is as twice as the movement the single one.
