Abstract: This paper proposes a method of using the B-spline mathematical model to plan high smoothness curve trajectories with heading condition through given waypoints for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in particular and ships with rudder systems in general. In addition, this paper examines some of the physical limitations of this vehicle, which lead to some binding conditions of the trajectory. Besides, the paper applies B-spline approximation method to reduce the curvature of the trajectory, when waypoints are too close and we do not need to go through exactly these waypoints in the 2D plane. Finally, this paper also proposes the genetic algorithm application with some modifications to solve the optimization of B-spline path length with constraint in turning radius of the vehicle.

Abstract: Fabric-foam samples were prepared by plying polyurethane foams (non-laminated and laminated) with different fabrics in this study. The fabric-foam plied samples were intended to be used for intimate apparel which is a kind of close-to-skin garment. The comfort requirement of intimate apparel is highly concerned and smoothness, softness, stiffness and drape are the consideration factors. Therefore, we evaluated the mechanical properties of smoothness, softness, stiffness and drape of the different plied samples and the results were discussed properly.

Abstract: In the course of road maintenance, importance has been gradually attached by administrative authorities to precast pavement for its advantages like quickness, endurance and eco-friendliness. To ensure the smoothness of precast pavement, analyses and researches were done in terms of, say, precast pavement slab precision control, base course treatment, fabricated pavement slab leveling and treatment of joint faulting, and a control measure to ensure and improve the smoothness of precast pavement is suggested with consideration given to its service effectiveness in actual projects.

Abstract: In this paper the effects of shape and tool material on the output parameters on spinning of aluminum sheets are investigated. To achieve this purpose, four kinds of roller tools with the same shapes and with different materials including mild steel, ertalon, polyamid and caoutchouc were used and some parts were spun by the same geometric form; moreover, in order to investigate the effects of roller nose radius on output parameters such as surface smoothness and thickness distribution, three caoutchouc roller tools with different nose radius were used at the same condition. The results show that using a caoutchouc roller tool for spinning of aluminum sheets leads to the best surface smoothness, while using a steel tool because of its roughness is not suitable. Ertalon and polyamid roller tool have a high rate of wearing. Furthermore, in the constant feedrate by increasing of roller nose radius the contact area between roller and workpiece is increased and surface smoothness is followed, relatedly.

Abstract: The effect of galvanic interaction between the evolving facets of the etch front on the Si {100} surface smoothness during wet anisotropic etching in surfactant-added tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) is studied by etching different mask patterns. Triton X-100, with formula C14H22O(C2H4O)n, where n=9-10, is used as the surfactant. The different smoothness of wet etched Si {100} surfaces, evaluated by atomic force microscope (AFM) and optical microscope, indicates that the wet etched Si {100} surfaces could become extremely smooth after the onset of the electrochemical etching contribution. A model to account for the galvanic interaction between the evolving facets is proposed, demonstrating that the chemical etching can be significantly surpassed by the electrochemical etching when the relative area of the exposed {100} surfaces are relatively small in comparison to that of the developed {111} sidewalls. Additionally, silicon beams with smooth surfaces are presented in the fabrication of a sandwich micro accelerometer to avoid the risk of device invalidation. This study is useful for engineering applications where the fabrication of microstructures for high quality devices should contain smooth surfaces.

Abstract: Exciting the mechanical resonance mode and vibration caused by non-smooth trajectories can cause some failure in the structure of the robot and its actuators. This work proposes a smooth trajectory planning for 3 degree of freedom (dof) 3-upu parallel manipulator. We have used optimization method to define the smooth trajectory for this robot. In this paper an objective function has been used which contain a term related to the total execution time and a term corresponding to the integral of squared jerk. Some constraints have been applied to the problem as the input of our system. Task space and joint space trajectory are then considered as the output. In this method optimization techniques such as genetic algorithm and fmincon (function of MatLabTM ) have been investigated. Six via points have been considered and B-splines have been used to present kinematic quantities.

Abstract: nanofibrillation of the oil palm empty fruit bunches, EFB, by synergizing the alkaline peroxide chemicals and a subsequent refining process was found to liberate useful fibrous mass. Of these, the nanofiber web materials were found to render smoothing effect by covering the trough between bound fibers and thus, hiding the true morphology of fibers on the paper surface. Apart from smoothing, which is one of the important paper properties requiring expensive furnishing, the thin nanofiber webs (tn-webs) also held the paper structure firmly by plunging of the nanofibers into the gaps between the micro-fibers. This is mainly due to their dimensional (10 nm < Diameter < 100 nm) compatibility. The smorgasbord shapes of the liberated tn-webs have a relatively lighter structures, found in the range of 2400-121500 μm2 areas, could be abundantly produced by adjustment of refiner blade type with a specific alkaline peroxide chemical level. The maximal level of paper smoothness was measured by the laser toner spread (fusion or otherwise). Analysis reveals more extensive toner fusion on Waldron-4 sample, suggesting surface uniformity anfd better leveling of fibers on paper surface. It turns out that, this corresponds to the fibers detected with more evidence of delamination and thus, more count of nanofiber web. Not only is this a proof of correlation of nanofiber web intensity with paper smoothness but also a possible promise for an alternative measure for paper printability enhancement.

Abstract: Smoothness directly influences the color effect of printed matter, so it is very significant for researching the influence of paper smoothness on color effect of printed matter. This article researchs the relationships between the paper smoothness and the color effect of printed matter through experiments. The results show that, hue error of printed matter decreases with increased smoothness, color gamut of printed matter increases with increased smoothness, the glossiness of printed matter increases with increased smoothness, and color effect of printed matter better with increased smoothness. The results could provide a theoretical reference for papermaking enterprises to optimize the process of papermaking and produce suitable paper for color printing.

Abstract: paper formation, smoothness, bulk, ink absorption, printability. Abstract. The impact of the paper formation on smoothness, compressibility, uniform of ink absorption is discussed in this paper. The experimental esults indicate that the paper with bad formation leads to higher apparent bulk, and the paper with bad formation shows nonuniform calendering and low compressibility. The bad formation of paper also results in deformation and omission of printing dots, which affects directly the reproduction of the printing images.

Abstract: Printing quality mainly depends on reproduction of the color and level, paper and ink influence the reproduction of color and level. In this paper, it is mainly through measuring the paper smoothness, whiteness, opacity, glossiness etc. parameters, using print press printed sample of different paper, Measuring density of color piece, calculate the grayscale, color deviation and color efficiency, and draw color wheel figure, thus obtaining conclusion that special material paper performance influence color reproduction and energy saving or material saving
