Abstract: Flotation experimental research is carried out on a certain sulphide copper ore of Sifangjing in Huidong, Sichuan province. The ore exist in the deeper part of ore deposit. Because of the deep burried, the oxidation rate is relatively low. The ore belongs to the typical sulfide ore. For the characteristics of the mine and the scene of the test requirements, the use of direct flotation process has achieved a successful recovery of copper. In the cleaning operation ,Strengthen copper sulfur separation to obtain qualified copper concentrate. Under the proper process conditions ,the good technical indexes were obtained.

Abstract: In order to prevent sphalerite particles from coming together in leaching solution, and to reduce the loss of organic solvent, the surface modification of sphalerite concentrate with sodium lignosulfonate was investigated. The modified sphalerite concentrate particles were characterized by dispersion experiments, determination of adsorption rate of oil, determination of contact angle, FT-IR spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectra. The results showed that the modified sphalerite concentrate particles exhibited good dispersibility in water. The sedimentation volume reduced from 0.85 ml•g-1 to 0.61 ml•g-1. The adsorption rate of oil reduced from 0.15 ml•g-1 to 0.06 ml•g-1. The contact angle between sphalerite concentrate particles and water changed from 86.9˚ before modification to 32.7˚ after modification with sodium lignosulfonate. The checking results of FT-IR and XPS spectra indicated that some modification regents were coated on the particle surface. The modifier combined to sphalerite concentrate particle surface through the chemical bond, resulting in the comprehensive stability action of static and steric effect.

Abstract: Several studies and different successful commercial applications had demonstrated that bioleaching can be an innovative approach that is capable to provide mining industry opportunities for essential growth in the medium term[2-18]. To identify the commercial application potential of bioleaching in Iranian copper industry, a research program was initiated. The objective of the main part of this program was to evaluate bacterial leaching processes for copper recovery from (i) high grade ores and flotation concentrates and (ii) low grade ores and flotation tailings. The latest results of these studies indicates the general operability of the bioleaching in both cases. At optimum conditions, the copper extraction from low grade materials was more than 80% and that from high grade ores and flotation concentrates about 95%, which should be high enough to justify the process economically.
