Abstract: Supply chain performance appraisal system is one of key components of SCM. After systematically reviewing the study of SCM, this paper analyzed the metrics and the shortcomings of the SCM. Combined with the BSC, from the dimensions of financial, customer, internal process, employee learning and growth, this paper designed index system, get the data through the questionnaire, examined the index system in terms of reliability and validity, and established a relatively scientific SCM performance index system.

Abstract: The impact of supply chain on new product development (NPD) and product introduction is particularly important in a time when (i) there are pressures for growing product proliferation in order to meet varied demands and constraints, (ii) the research and development pipeline is a key focus in companies, and (iii) technology life cycles have shortened so much that obsolete inventories and time to market are crucial for companies margin performance. This research focuses on the early stages of the collaborative product development process in the extended enterprise and shows it is a contribution to the business world. The output of the research includes the functional requirements of a framework and a developed prototype methodology with tools and technologies that are tested with case studies in the industrial environment. The study also focuses on using modern modeling tools to represent the product development processes of an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and its suppliers.

Abstract: In order to improve the inventory control efficiency and quality in manufacturing company, one production scheduling optimization method is put forward. Simulation of production model is firstly constructed, such as description of the production model, simulation data, machine processes and scheduling model. Moreover, Genetic Algorithm is applied to generate a production schedule for efficient running of machine. The simulation result is analyzed to verify the method by comparing product simulation with actual production.

Abstract: Return is a critical but controversial issue. To deal with such a vague return problem, business must improve information transparency about end users’ return activities. This research proposed an agent-based architecture for return administration. The intelligent return administration expert system (iRAES) architecture consists of two KDD mechanisms and two intelligent agents that can predict the possibility of the end user will return the product (via return diagnosis agent, RDA) and provide return centre staff with recommendations for return administration (via return recommender agent, RRA). iRAES is implemented successfully and adopts hybrid artificial intelligent algorithms, including the following: data mining is employed to implement the RDA agent, and case-based reasoning is adopted to design the RRA agent. A demonstrated 3C-iShop scenario is presented to illustrate the feasibility and efficiency of iRAES architecture. As the experiment results show, iRAES can decrease the 70% effort for return administration evaluation and improve performance with return administration suggestions by 37%. Therefore, return administration and the knowledge management about product return can be accelerated via iRAES.

Abstract: How informatization promotes the development of integrated transportation system is discussed in this paper. A model of the relationship between transportation development and space-time structure of economy is presented in order to explain the transportation system characteristics and development requirements in the information society. The key role of information and communication technology (ICT) is analyzed by combing through the developing clues of transport. Logistics, SCM and third-party organizations are employed as well to study integrated transportation system for comprehensive consideration.

Abstract: This paper examines coordination problems and corresponding incentive mechanisms between a retailer and a third-party Logistics for jointly investing in an information technology that has the potential to improve the efficiency and security of the supply chain. The conclusion indicates that internal incentive mechanisms, such as investment cost sharing among supply chain partners, are not likely to resolve underinvestment problems completely; Instead, external financial incentive mechanisms, such as tax incentives, need to be considered to coordinate the supply chain.

Abstract: Supplier evaluation and selection is one of the most important components of supply chain, which influence the long term commitments and performance of the plant. Supplier selection is a complex multi-criteria problem which includes both qualitative and quantitative factors. In order to select the best suppliers it is essential to make a trade off between these tangible and intangible factors some of which may conflict. In this paper, an AHP-based supplier selection model is formulated and then applied to a real case study for a polyamide fiber plant in China. The use of the proposed model indicates that it can be applied to improve and assist decision making to resolve the supplier selection problem in choosing the optimal supplier combination.

Abstract: In this study implementing Supply Chain Management (SCM) among Malaysian automotive industries are considered to recognize what kind of problems suffered by those organizations when SCM was applied. Survey questionnaire was used to gather the data needed. The questionnaire was distributed to 300 Malaysian’s automotive organizations and a total of 62 replies were usable. The survey reveals that companies suffer from the lack of information as major difficulty during implementing SCM. The findings of this research would give invaluable information to all researchers and practitioners in the field of SCM.
