Abstract: The formations of bubble in the polystyrene latex (PSL) aqueous suspension were observed through out the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) process. The voltages in between of 20V to 50V were studied as a parameter for this study to investigate reason of bad quality of deposition when high voltage is applied in the EPD process. The objectives of the study are to observe the pattern and to determine of bubbles formation size on the stainless steel during pulse EPD process. The PSL suspension from pH 5 to 10 were prepared. The bubble formation was observed and size of bubbles was measured by using microscopic video. The difference voltages are applied on the suspension to observe the best condition with no or low bubbles formation when voltage applied. From the experiment, when the voltages increase, the number of bubbles increases. Observation shown that at low voltage the bubble tend to grow up and then burst during the process. As an addition, the sizes of bubbles decrease in base suspension though its increase in acid suspension.

Abstract: Menthol was used as sublimate eutectic compound to prepare the volatile eutectic solvent by mixing with camphor, borneol or N-Ethyl-5-methyl-2-(1-methylethyl) cyclohexanecarboxamide (WS-3). The system of menthol:camphor, menthol:borneol and menthol:WS-3 in various ratio (1:9 to 9:1) was characterized. The 5:5 menthol:camphor system showed the highest evaporation rate. Ibuprofen dissolved in eutectic solvent was used as internal phase of emulsion whereas tween80 was used as emulsifier. Eutectic solvent was evaporated to induce the transformation of emulsion droplet to small particle. Eutectic could be used as solvent for preparing small size suspension (14.81±0.44 µm) without organic solvent used.

Abstract: Vehicle ride comfort determines vehicle performance, affects the ride comfort and reliability. Aimed at the problems in establishing the vehicle dynamics model by traditional classical mechanical methods, the vehicle ride comfort simulation analysis scheme on the basis of virtual prototyping technology is put forward. Based on Multi-body dynamics, the virtual prototype vehicle model was established. According to the national standards, the vehicle ride comfort simulation scheme was designed, including the simulation test with sine wave excitation, the simulation test on triangular bump road and random uneven road. Through the test, the root mean square of weighed acceleration can be got and the evaluating process can be accomplished according to the ISO standard. The results show a good ride comfort of the testing vehicle. Virtual test provides a useful reference for the complex mechanical product design of physical prototype.

Abstract: Colloidal processing was applied to a commercial 5 vol% 3Y-ZrO2 nanosuspension with a particle size of 10-15 nm. The nanosuspension was concentrated by evaporation or by the newly developed method of osmotic dehydration. The viscosity and stability of concentrated suspensions were investigated. The concentrated nanosuspension prepared by osmotic dehydration was consolidated by centrifugation in non-porous moulds. The dried deposit had a relative density of 46% and pores ranged from 4 to 8 nm. This deposit was densified by pressureless presintering to closed porosity, followed by hot isostatic pressing in order to obtain transparent ceramics. After sintering, the tetragonal zirconia retained the nanocrystalline structure with an average grain size of 65 nm and an in-line transmission of 25 % (at 633 nm wavelength and 0.5 mm plate thickness).

Abstract: In this paper the results of alumina aqueous suspension disaggregation with the help of bead and ball mills are shown. The changing of maximum particle size for50 wt. % and 90 wt. % of powder (from lowest to highest size) in suspension dispersed by a bead mill for one hour and ball mill for 48 hours was fixed. In order to achieve powder parameters given by the manufacturer disaggregating process sets was defined.

Abstract: In this paper, the biological coatings were studied by adding different kinds of additives (TiO2, Al2O3 and ZnO) to hydroxyapatite (HA). The different mass ratio of additives and HA in suspension was mixed with n-butyl alcohol as solvent, triethanolamine as dispersant. The HA composite coatings with additives on titanium alloy substrate were prepared by the method of electrophoretic deposition (EPD). The coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Ca/P atomic ratio in composite coatings was analyzed by Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS). The results showed that surface of HA coatings was more uniform and dense by adding TiO2 than Al2O3 or ZnO; and when adding the same kind of additive, the content was higher, there were more holes in HA coatings and surface of the coatings was less uniform. When HA was 15 g/L and TiO2 was 5 g/L in suspension, Ca/P atomic ratio was 1.56, that’s the most close to the body's natural bone (~ 1.61). HA coatings can be implanted in the body after a short time of ossification and exhibited a good bioactivity.

Abstract: This paper established the nonlinear dynamic model of finished automobile to study the influence of suspension structural parameters, automotive braking and steering on the vehicle driving comfort and handling stability. The simulation results show that in the vehicle steering process, the body roll changed indirectly the tire lateral force, which had the impacts of yaw and lateral movement, and the interaction between the suspension and steering between systems is very significant especially under condition of the uneven road excitation. When the peak of the tire steering angle increased, the roll angle of vehicle body became larger and larger, followed by the change of body posture and the deterioration of ride comfort. With the increase of the steering angle, the lateral acceleration of the vehicle became larger and larger, and even resulted in tire skidding, thus reducing the driving safety of the vehicle.

Abstract: The high solid loading slurries with ZnO-Al2O3 powders stabilized with polyelectrolytes have been studied. The influence of Sodium poly(acrylate) (PA 30) on the fluidity and stablility of the slurries was investigated. Morphological features of ZnO-Al2O3 powders in suspension and fracture surface of green compact were observed using TEM and SEM. The slurries with pH 9 were prepared after milled using ZnO mixed powders and the PA 30 solution of pH 8. As 0.2 wt% PA 30 added, the lowest viscosity and the highest sediment were obtained. ZnO and Al2O3 particles had been homogeneous dispersed. The maximum density (66.7 %TD) of green compact was obtained.

Abstract: This work presents an approach to realize hybrid damping passively on the basis of inerter-spring-damper system, and demonstrates a passive hybrid damping suspension system that offers the performances of skyhook and groundhook dampers, but without the need of an inertial frame. The design principle and method of the system are presented, and a full-car model is built to analyze and compare the performances of the conventional passive, ideal and passive hybrid damping suspensions. The results demonstrate that the ideal and passive hybrid damping suspensions have the quite consistent performance that they both can suppress body and wheel resonances. As a result, the presented suspension improves ride comfort and safety significantly. It therefore has a good comprehensive performance.
