Abstract: Described in the paper is analysis of properties of synchronous motor with outer permanent magnets rotor. The motor, having an atypical construction, is powered by low voltage from a three phase frequency converter. It is suitable as a drive unit for direct power drives of small electric vehicles and electric wheelchairs. Theoretical analysis of the synchronous motor with outer permanent magnets rotor starts with the air gap space configuration. The present paper describes the main results from open-circuit and load simulation. The section of paper describes the mechanical construction of prototype of the synchronous machine. Experimental results of measurements of the machine prototype in the generatoric and motoric mode are described. Experimental measurements verified stability of the motor parameters at its loading.

Abstract: The paper describes results of testing of magnetic loss and saturation of magnetic system for superconductive electrical devices, manufactured of AMAG 225 AMAG 170 amorphous alloys produced by the Open Joint-Stock Company “Mstator”. Note that annealing of the cores was not carried out, since previous experience shows that annealing process makes steel crispy, and, furthermore, in case of thermal cycling, which occurs in cryogenic machines and devices, the destructive process is accelerating and results in the total destruction of amorphous tape. Manufacturing of the cores of different superconductive electrical devices requires testing with 2NSR, 5BDSR amorphous alloys, AMAG 200 nanocrystalline tape, (unannealed and annealed). The results of these investigations were published previously.

Abstract: The paper is devoted to testing of a brushless exciter intended for a 1 MVA high-temperature superconductive (HTSC) synchronous generator. It was decided to make a ambient-temperature version on the 1-st stage with a latter transaction to a cryogenically-cooled version. The exciter incorporates a number of nanomaterials: rare-earth Nd-Fe-B magnets and magnetic cores, manufactured of amorphous alloy tape.

Abstract: The paper describes the research results of modeling and control of proportional valve with synchronous motor type PMSM (Permanent Magnets Synchronous Motor). In the paper, a simulation model of the proposed valve was developed and described. The model included the square root flow characteristics, nonlinearity of the hydraulic actuator, valve dead zone and saturation of the flow. The study included the investigations of the basic characteristics, such as valve flow characteristic and step responses. In order to determine the basic parameters of the valve, the test stand was built, on which the new valve and the servo drive with this valve were tested. A servo drive control system was based on PLC with touch panel and inverter module. In the paper, the chosen investigations results of the valve and the servo drive system are presented and shortly discussed.

Abstract: In order to analyze the transient performance of the multiple three-phase synchronous motor (MTSM) operating at synchronous speed, according to the complex mathematical model and the stator inductance matrix feature of the MTSM, its complex equivalent circuit was studied, and the parameter formulas of this equivalent circuit are presented in the general form. The complex equivalent circuit of the MTSM proposed in this paper is formed by many reactance branches which contain an armature reactance of the one set of three-phase winding and several equivalent leakage reactances, and the equivalent leakage reactances are related to the stator currents.

Abstract: The research group analyzed the power supply scheme of the in-plant power supply load center and carried out experimental investigations of voltage levels and reactive power flows in this center. Start and stability of the synchronous motor operation in various operation modes and line patterns were studied using a computer-based mathematical model. Technical solutions offered in the paper will provide an opportunity to reduce the synchronous motor downtime caused by voltage reduction in the mains.

Abstract: A back-stepping adaptive control strategy is proposed to direct torque control (DTC) of surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) in order to solve some problems existed in conventional DTC. The output of the designed controller makes space vector modulation (SVM) possible, which further ensures the inverted switching frequency to be fixed. The stability of the controller is verified via Lyapunov stable theory. Simulation results show that the presented control strategy can solve these problems effectively and show strong robust to external disturbance and noise.

Abstract: In this paper a geometry investigation of low rotational speed synchronous machines using finite element method is presented. The abovementioned investigation is accomplished using a two step design procedure for salient poles synchronous machines, while a respective example which will be shown synoptically is an under scale design of a low rotational salient pole synchronous motor connected to a ships propeller axis directly. Keywords: Geometry investigation, ships electric propulsion, finite element method, synchronous motor.

Abstract: The traditional rocket and missile actuator usually uses the hydromantic servo system or pneumatic servo system, because of their better dynamic characteristic and structural adaptability. While with heavy weight, complex structure and expensive cost, it is difficult to realize. The permanent magnet active current servo motor has many advantages, such as high torque, small inertia, high efficiency, the high ratio of power to inertia, cramped construction, firmness, easy maintaining and high reliability. The electrical servo system using the permanent magnet active current servo motor as the power unit satisfies the need of the tactical missile gas vane and air vane servo system, because the range of its transmitted power is wide, its response is quick, and control power is low. This paper analyzed the pole shoe’s shape optimization characteristic against the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor for actuator, presents the design method and main process of permanent magnet synchronous motor for actuator using the field-circuit method. Optimal design can be acquired by the equivalent magnetic circuit method and the finite-element method conveniently and precisely. The analytical result of the prototype motor validated the feasibility of the optimization design.
