Abstract: A novel cheap macromolecular intumescent flame retardants (MIFR), was synthesized, and its structure was a caged bicyclic macromolecule containing phosphorus characterized by IR. Rigid polyurethane foam (PUF) were modified with MIFR to get the flame retardant PUF, whose flammability and burning behavior were characterized by UL 94 and limiting oxygen index (LOI). 25% of weight of MIFR were doped into PUF to get 24.5 of LOI and UL 94 V-0. The thermal properties of epoxy resins containing MIFR were investigated with thermogravimetry (TG). Activation energy for the decomposition of samples was obtained using Kissinger equation. The resultant data show that for PUF containing MIFR, compared with PUF, MIFR decreased weight loss, thermal stability, increased the char yield. The activation energy for the decomposition of EP is 205 kJ/mol while it becomes 162 kJ/mol for PUF containing MIFR, decreased by 42 kJ/mol, which shows that IFR can catalyze decomposition and carbonization of PUF.

Abstract: A series of N-(pyridin-4-yl) salicylamides derivatives were prepared through acylation of the corresponding acetylsalicyloyl chlorides with substituted 4-amino-pyridines. These compounds might serve as prospective wide-spectrum antimycobacterial substances.

Abstract: N, O-Carboxymethyl chitosan (N, O-CMC) was synthesized in this study, and the properties of N, O-CMC were affected by the synthesis conditions. Structure of N, O-CMC was detected by fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) was used to analyze the crystallinity. Potentiometric titration was used to measure the DS of N, O-CMC.

Abstract: The Ethyl Methacrylate (EMA)/N, N-4, 4-Diphenylmethane-bismaleimide (BMI) copolymer was synthesized by the conventional free radical polymerization. The resulting copolymer was fully characterized by FTIR, TG, DSC and the film exhibited excellent film-forming property, high thermal and dimensional stability. The devices based on EMA/ BMI copolymer possess a sandwich structure comprising bottom indiumtin oxide (ITO) electrode and top Ag electrode. The as-fabricated device exhibits the nonvolatile rewritable flash type memory characteristics. The ITO/(EMA/BMI copolymer)/Ag memory device also demonstrates ON/OFF-current ratio of about 1 × 102 and lower switching threshold voltage of about 0.98V.

Abstract: Hierarchically porous materials have attracted recent attention because of the development of new routes to form them and because they are associated with improved efficiencies when used as catalysts or as electrode materials in secondary batteries. Hierarchical porosity enables high surface areas and, hence, high solid fluid exchange associated with small pores to be combined with the high flow rates associated with large pores.

Abstract: Five novel bisabolonalone hydrazone carboxamides were synthesized as potential anti-ulcer agents. Their structures were characterized by NMR, IR and ESI-MS. All of the compounds possessed the better H+/K+-ATPase inhibitory activity than the commercial omeprazole with the IC50 of 18~68 μM in vitro. These compounds could be potentially use for the treatment of ulcer related diseases.

Abstract: With the aim of obtaining potential IL-6 inhibitor for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, four 3-aryloxylindolizine derivatives were synthesized from the 2-bromopyridine and aryl propargyl ether through the Sonogashira coupling/5-endo-trig cycloisomerization domino strategy. These compounds were characterized by NMR, IR, EI-MS and elemental analysis. Their biological activities were evaluated by the bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation of mouse cells on the RAW264.7 inflammation model. All the compounds revealed good anti-inflammatory activities with the inhibitions of 71~82% against IL-6 at 100 μM. The bioactive 3-aryloxylindolizines might be used as potential anti-inflammatory drugs.

Abstract: The synthesis and interleukin-6 (IL-6) inhibitory activities for a series of 3-alkyloxylindolizine derivatives were described. The target products were characterized by NMR, IR, ESI-MS and elemental analysis, and two compounds revealed better IL-6 inhibitory effects on LPS-induced IL-6 expression in mouse macrophages with the corresponding inhibition ratio of 66% and 74% at 100 μM. The bioactive compounds might be a good generation for further optimization as potential anti-inflammatory agents.
