Abstract: Waterlog due to urban flood is a great threat to the urban population now-a-days. An unplanned city with illegitimate constructions and without proper drainage planning has led to this problem. Problems associated with urban floods range from relatively localized incidents to major incidents, resulting in cities being inundated from a few hours to several days. Therefore, the impact can also be widespread, including temporary relocation of people, damage to civic amenities, deterioration of water quality and risk of epidemics. The study undertakes the waterlog problem of Jorhat town, Assam, India. The paper presents a System Dynamics approach based on the cause and effect analysis and feedback loop structures. Ten factors Rainfall, Water Log, Population, Urbanisation, Cost (health and economy), Waste Material Production, Drainage Construction and Maintenance, Encroachment, Ground Percolation and Drain Capacity are considered for the causal loop diagram. The model runs in Vensim PLE software and the simulated results suggest to construct the poorly developed drains of the town and to minimise drain blockage to mitigate water log for now and coming future.

Abstract: The performance evaluation of enterprise informatization not only can accelerate the process of enterprise informatization, but also can avoid trapping in informatization investment. In view of the existing problems in the performance evaluation of enterprise informatization, the paper seeks to combine the use of the balanced scorecard and System dynamics as Dynamic Balanced Scorecard for performance evaluation. It aims to establish a model for the combination of these long-and short-term organisational activities as a framework for evaluating the enterprise informatization performance. Example is given from a enterprise imposed informatization using Vensim software, of how core capabilities are managed to show how strategy impact on the enterprise operation. The study finds that, using the dynamic balanced scorecard method to the evaluation of enterprise informatization has good maneuverability and rationality.

Abstract: Urban rail transit is occupying assume an increasingly important role in urban traffic areas as a means of urban public transport. This paper will analyze the various factors impacting the subway fares, and research the relationship between all the factors based on system dynamics, ultimately some suggestions formulated.

Abstract: System dynamics was used to analyze the sustainable development issues of flood detention basin form the perspective of economic, population, resources and environmental. Based on the analysis of the subsystems characteristics and internal factors affect between the various subsystems constructed Dongting Lake flood detention basin’s system dynamics model of sustainable development was build. Constraint and exogenous variables analysis based on the model structure was taken. And from the perspective of economic planning, population control and River Basin Compensation, offered proposals for the promotion of Dongting Lake flood detention basin’s sustainable development.

Abstract: System dynamics was used to analyze the Low-carbon economy in Hunan province form the perspective of economic, social, energy and environmental. Based on the analysis of the subsystems characteristics and internal factors affect between the various subsystems constructed Low-carbon economy system dynamics model in Hunan province was build. Constraint and exogenous variables analysis based on the model structure was taken. And from the perspective of economic planning, the policy system of low carbon economy and carbon trading and carbon compensation system, offered proposals for the promotion of Low-carbon economy in Hunan province.

Abstract: This paper aims to examine the literatures with regard to the application of system dynamic (SD) in construction project management published from 1998 to 2012 . By using the content analysis method, we divided the concerned literatures into four categories:(1) application in performance; (2)application in analyzing dynamic factors; (3) application in modeling; (4) application in evaluation. Based on the categorical review on the applications of SD in construction project management,we found that SD is an appropriate method for understanding and managing the dynamics and complexity of construction projects from a dynamic and holistic view. However, this research topic are not well developed for the limited literatures and there is still a lot of research work needs to be done. And therefore, the implications for the future research directions were presented and an increasing trend of applying the SD techniques in construction project management research is observed.

Abstract: New product introduction(NPI) has became the main cooperation model between multinational and OEM companies, and there is knowledge transfer during the NPI process. First, this paper summarizes the process of enterprise knowledge transfer under NPI model and analyzes the causal relationship. Second, the corresponding system dynamics model is built. At last, the analogue simulation, the analysis of system effectiveness and sensitivity are conducted. Simulation results show that this model fits the process of enterprise knowledge transfer under NPI model and can provide effective decision support for similar knowledge transfer process.

Abstract: Case study of 300 typical coal mine accident indicates that coal miners’ unsafe behavior is the major internal reason causing coal mine accidents. Factors affecting coal miners’ unsafe behavior were identified because of human’s complexity. We built the relatively entire system of coal miners’ safety behavior and quantitatively analyzed Coal miners’ unsafe behavior system, then explained the path and divergence of impact factors within the system in detail. Management decision can be formulated to advance management level in coal mine industry accordingly.

Abstract: We develop a novel system for temporal-spatial simulation and dynamic regulation of water quality in water pollution accidents by introducing GIS to traditional one-dimensional system dynamics water quality model. We apply this system to the Songhua River water pollution accident which happened in 2005 and achieve good performance in simulating pollution zone migration and transformation in temporal and spatial dimensions.
