Abstract: The article provides information about the initial elements in the waste and tailings of the copper processing plant of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine and theoretical solutions for the extraction of metals. According to chemical data, the amount of iron in the waste is high (52.6%), and the most effective solution for extracting iron from the waste is the reduction process. An increase in the amount of iron to 88.9% was formed using coal and lime as reducing agents.

Abstract: Hydration activity of a tailing is evaluated by the hydration rate obtained from the electrical resistivity measurement and compressive strength in a cementitious hydration system as a mineral admixture. A plain paste and the pastes with tailing or fly ash by replacement of cement at water-binder ratio of 0.4 are prepared. The electrical resistivity of the paste samples was measured in 168h(7d) by a non-contact resistivity technique. Hydration activity of the tailing was also evaluated by measuring the compressive strength at the curing ages of 3d~90d to confirm the results from the electrical resistivity. It is found that the addition of a mineral admixture delays the occurrence of two peaks on the electrical resistivity differential curve and the delayed times are 3.32h and 6.10h for the sample with tailing, and 0.78h, 3.49h for the sample with fly ash. The rate values on the two peaks are decreased with incorporation of the tailing or fly ash. The activity evaluation results on the mineral admixtures from the resistivity measurement are consistent with the strength results before 7d. The resistivity as an activity index can provide a simple and fast way to evaluate mineral material activity at early ages. The effect of tailing and fly ash on compressive strength for a long term was also analyzed and the micro-structure of the pastes at 7d and 28d were observed by SEM.

Abstract: Tailing is one kind of solid waste produced in mining activities. It has seriously impacted the ecological environment and the effect will last in a long period. This paper reviews some effects of tailings on surrounding rivers, surface and ground water, soil, plants and sediments.

Abstract: Based on safety assessment factors determined by operation characteristics of a certain tailing ,genetic BP neural network evaluation model is established. To overcome such problems of BP neural network as slow convergence ,poor generalization ability and easy to fall into local minimum value, this paper proposes to use genetic algorithm to optimize threshold value, weights and structure of neural network. Thus,by taking advantage of extensive mapping ability of neural network and global search ability of genetic algorithm, neural network and genetic algorithm will have complementary advantages and the learning speed of network will be accelerated. The application of the described method shows optimized fitting precision, improved accuracy and efficiency ,and enhanced generalization ability of BP neural network. In conclusion, this model can effectively reflect and accurately evaluate non-linear relations between security levels and evaluation factors in tailing.

Abstract: The tailing sample containing 17.11% Fe was subjected to this experimental and taken from Yunnan. After a series of beneficiation tests, the iron concentrate assaying 58.65% Fe at a yield of 11.48% was obtained by process flow – weak magnetic and strong magnetic discarding tailing in advance, rough concentrate regrinding and weak magnetic – table recleaning, and ultimately realized the effective recycling of iron.

Abstract: This paper discusses the use of tailings for road pavement, especially for Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC) based on laboratory test results. The benefits of this study are: (1) diversification of road pavement materials, (2) the use of tailings optimally as road pavement material, (3) reduce the potential for environmental contamination. Tests on the characteristics of the tailings conducted to evaluate the properties related to its performance as a blending component. In this study, the percentage of tailings by 15%, 20% and 25% is added to the AC-WC mixture. Mix design performed by the method of Marshall. In the optimum asphalt content (OAC) the influence of water resistance and resistance to permanent deformation of sample are evaluated. The best performance is use of tailings by 20%. This mixture is not a mixture of the sensitive to inaccuracies in the asphalt mixture compared with the mixture using tailing by 15% and 25%. Wheel tracking test showed that the mixture has the smallest permanent deformation that is 2 mm.While resistance to water and temperature same for all all mixtures. This study shows that the tailings could be used as a road pavement material, which replaces the sand-sized aggregates.

Abstract: Carlin Trend gold ores are often refractory by conventional cyanid, for a number reasons:1) the gold is locked up within host sulfide minerals such as pyrite or arsenopyrite; 2) the ore contains carbonaceous compounds which are preg-robbing; 3) the gold is locked up in silicate minerals. An alternative technique called diagnostic leaching, originally developed by the Anglo American Research Laboratories in South Africa, has been used successfully to distinguish between a wide variety of different gold associations, including the proportion of preg-robbing gold in carbonaceous gold ores.

Abstract: The gold grade of the gold mine is high, because of the him particle size is fine, after flotation and gravity separation, the grade of gold is 3.5g/t,In order to increase economic efficiency and improve the resource utilization, this paper studies cyanide leaching of gold ore on the tailings,With studying experiment, the grade of gold is approximately 0.17g/t.the leaching rate of gold is nearly 95%.

Abstract: the influence rules for the settlement of tailings from bauxite direct flotation were investigated under the different pulp pH and dosage of inorganic flocculants(such as Al2(OH)nCl6-n, Al2(SO4)3) and organic flocculants(nonionic polyacrylamide(080), cationic polyacrylamide(603), anionic polyacrylamide(JB-TR782)). The results show that surface static potential of particles is the key effect factor for the settlement of tailings. The good settlement of tailings can be obtained with adding a little dosage of flocculants when pH was kept at about 7.0, 080 and 603 can increase the sedimentation rate in the alkaline pulp evidently, the organic flocculants can do as well. The combination of Al2(SO4)3 and 080 could produce good sedimentation results for tailings and the dosage of Al2(SO4)3 and 080 can be decreased as well, so it has an application prospect.

Abstract: The grade of molybdenum in one processed tailing from a molybdenum plant is 0.0063%.The assay of mineral composition shows that the molybdenum metal mainly exists in the form of molybdenite. Employing the flow-sheet with one rougher and one scavenger, in which kerosene is used as collector, we can obtain the rough concentrate, of which the yield is 0.65%, and its grade is 0.73% with a recovery of 77.04%. Then, the rough molybdenum concentrate was milled and floated again, and its yield of final flotation concentrate is 0.01534%, with the grade of 24.87% and a recovery of 61.39%.
