Abstract: Air conditioning system is one of the main components of modern cars, which defines the level of comfort, its performances directly affecting the car performances. In order to have a car with high level of thermal comfort, the air-conditioning system must be efficient in terms of energy, it has to perform many functions regarding the microclimate control (control of temperature, humidity, filtration), and in addition must fulfill safety and security functions in circulation (demisting and defrosting). Also vehicle air-conditioning system can significantly influence fuel economy and tailpipe emissions of conventional and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and reduce electric vehicle (EV) range.

Abstract: According to the economic development and the requirement of leisure activities, the popularity of leisure and recreation become very popular in Taiwan. Thus, How to attract tourists to visit these leisure places becomes as a major issue. The questionnaire and outdoor and semi-outdoor comfort detecting devices are applied to analyze these real factors. The results of questionnaire display that “choose a comfortable time to recreation” and “choose the comfort of shade near the local open space” are most important factors for tourists. Then, filed test results show that actual influence factors of tourist activities are outdoor and semi-outdoor thermal comfort, such as wind velocity and surface temperature of construction materials. Thus, the suitable construction material is imitation wood for creating a comfort place.

Abstract: A wall hanging air-conditioning office was simulated on three different air supply angle and three different air supply velocity by the AIRPAK .Based on the velocity fields, temperature fields, PMV-PPD obtained, analysis indoor thermal comfort. The result shows obvious difference of air distribution and great effect of indoor thermal under different air supply angle and different air supply velocity. By comprehensive comparison, the best air supply condition is the one of 75° downward, 3.0m/s.

Abstract: This paper focuses on possibilities in increasing the user comfort of seating furniture in public waiting interiors. There are several aspects helping to achieve the best comfort of sitting, such as appropriate ergonomic design, shape, or material composition. While every of the said aspects have a significant impact on the final comfort, it would be better, or even essential, to adopt a complex view of this issue. One of the complex ways to increase the user comfort is to observe the interaction of the human (the “user”) with the material. The paper describes tactile properties in the interaction with basic types of materials the public gets in direct contact with when sitting in public waiting interiors. The conducted research focuses on tactile properties leading to contact comfort of the most used materials, and analyses the properties in relation to temperature, roughness, hardness and comfort. The four mentioned tactile properties are essential for our goal – an increase in user comfort. The preferred materials were defined according to a preceding terrain survey which explored what materials are most commonly used for present seating furniture. The paper then presents the methodology and results of the research focusing on interaction between the human user and the material. The results of the said research might prove useful for future designing and development of seating furniture which focuses on the user’s sensational balance and calmness, i.e. the optimal comfort.

Abstract:

Creating a comfortable indoor environment has been one of the mainconcerns when it comes to the design and operation of buildings. Buildings are a crucial part of our daily life, on average people spends 85 % of their time performing activities inside of buildings and therefore the quality of the indoor environment is a critical factor affecting the happiness and productivity of building users. The indoor environmental quality has a strong relationship on the thermal conditions of a space which is directly affected by the amount of heat lost or gained due to the properties of the materials used, the external environmental conditions and the inner sources of heat; In consequence, efforts have to be made to maintain proper thermal conditions by means of using natural and mechanical strategies to provide heating, cooling and ventilation. While the thermal comfort is an important aspect for the average user of a building, it becomes a critical aspect when it comes to population highly sensitive to thermal conditions.

Children under and patients in hospitals with low levels of immune system are more likely to feel discomfort under certain operational conditions of ventilation, cooling and heating delivery systems.Particularly in this study have been investigated the thermal comfort and thermal comfort parameters for children, toddlers and hospital patients in three locations during the typical operation of systems in late spring.

Abstract: The development of modern energy is closely linked with the use of renewable energy. One of the leading trends in the field of renewable energy is photovoltaic , direct conversion of sunlight into electricity . Photovoltaic (photovoltaics) - the science that studies the process of converting sunlight into energy electric. Process is a direct conversion of sunlight into electrical energy using special semiconductor components. It is based on the physical phenomenon of the photoelectric effect - "pulling " electrons from a substance (silicon) under the action of light particles (photons) with the necessary energy (wavelength) .

Abstract: To improve air change rate and exercise site’s thermal comfort of gymnasium under natural ventilation in hot and humid areas, taking Guangzhou as an example, symmetrical model, unsymmetrical model, and unsymmetrical model with corbel table were simulated and calculated with Fluent and other software. The result indicates that, compared with symmetrical mode, unsymmetrical model and unsymmetrical model with corbel table can improve exercise site’s wind velocity and integral air change rate, and the latter model improves more. Based on unsymmetrical model with corbel table, window-opening ventilation strategies for competition are further put forward. In the end, it discusses about the influence towards thermal comfort of exercise site by natural ventilation in different form models and different use modes.

Abstract: A traditional metal processing factory is a hot workplace. Previously, the rationality of the work-rest time regimen and the hazard of workload on employee health have been evaluated; however, thermal comfort of workers in such a hot workplace has not been discussed. This paper uses the standard new effective temperature as the thermal environment index to investigate the neutral temperature, preferred temperature, and comfortable temperature range. The doors and windows in traditional metal processing factories are always open; therefore, the neutral temperature is almost the same as the neutral temperature in semi-outdoor and outdoor environments. In addition, the preferred temperature is slightly higher than the neutral temperature. We also discovered that the comfortable temperature range in traditional metal processing factories is larger than that in office environments, but smaller than that in semi-outdoor and outdoor environments.
