Abstract: The pointing of an antenna always exists deviation due to track deformation, gravity and thermal influence. Through long time observation, we find that sunlight also has some influence on antenna structure. In order to get the antenna pointing deviation in the effects of the sunlight of 25m antenna in Urumqi, we use the frame-typed level and thermometer to make a week’s measurement about the temperature around the antenna and the antenna tilt. The measured data was analyzed and combined with the track deformation data, and the pointing error fixed model as well as the thermal load deformation model were built. The measured data was fitted by the two models, and the result shows that the model can well reflect the pointing error and thermal load error, thus can give a better understanding of the antenna deformation, and also can give some good reference to antenna pointing calibration and the antenna’s reconstruction.

Abstract: A numerical simulation model of heat flux sensors embedded in a flat plate is established. Each sensor has four thermal couples and is inserted into the specified hole. The problem is defined as a steady heat conduction problem with specified boundary conditions and solved by the finite element method. The results of the simulation case demonstrate that the maximum heat flux appears near the sensor shell. The average heat flux of the plate is much smaller than the maximum. Due to exiting of the contact heat resistance, the temperature of the sensor is much lower than that of the plate at horizontal surface. The maximum temperature difference appears on the bottom shell of the sensor. The maximum temperature difference between the simulation results and the experimental data at test points is 1.5 K. The model is verified and could be accepted for the further errors analysis.

Abstract: This paper presents a comparison of different measurement techniques for condition monitoring of electric motors. Results are presented for vibration, acoustic and thermal analysis. Vibration signals were measured by piezoelectric accelerometers, acoustic by microphones and temperature data was collected by an infrared camera. Two induction motor cases were examined – healthy motor case and combination of static eccentricity with soft foot case. Vibration monitoring is a well known technique used in condition monitoring and in this work vibration measurements were used as a reference signal for assessment of the value of acoustic and thermal measurements. As presented in result section both acoustic analyses as well as thermal images appear as valuable techniques for condition monitoring of electric motors. All the measurements where conducted in an industrial environment.
