Abstract: Following the development of regional economy, especially the construction of Tianjin Binhai new district, environmental pollution and ecological hazards has been resulted from the pollutant discharge and reclamation etc. The environmental air quality is very important for the health of human being, so it is very important for analyzing and evaluating the environmental air quality for guiding the environmental management and control. In this paper, the environmental air quality of recent fourteen years in Tianjin is analyzed. Multiple scales method is applied to obtain the environmental air current situation. The results of analysis and assessment show the environmental air quality is becoming worse in recent years.

Abstract: The natural sedimentation method was employed to monitor air microbes at eighteen different public places. There are significant differences of microbial concentration in air among the functional places in Tianjin (p<0.05). The density of bacteria, fungi and total microbes were 1.22×104 CFU/m3, 2.6×103 CFU/m3, and 1.48×104 CFU/m3, respectively. There are 18 sampling sites, within which extremely and seriously polluted area accounted for 11%, and moderately and slight polluted area accounted for 6%, and clean and relatively clean area equally accounted for 33%. The industrial and transport regions were the most seriously contaminated district by airborne microbes in Tianjin, and our study here indicates that routine monitoring of airborne microorganisms quality plays a critical role in preventing outbreak of airborne diseases and detecting source of microbial pollution.

Abstract: With the serious problems caused by environment distruction, the large attention was taken to environmental protection. The coal pollution as one of the critical problems isurgently need to solve. Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC), an advanced clean coal power generation system, is a main hotspot in energy and power field all over the world. This paper mainly focuses on the technology, development trend and the problems of IGCC in Tianjin. The success of IGCC greatly enhances the international influence of our country in dealing with the global climate change, which also makes great significance in the development and storage of China's coal-fired power generation.

Abstract: Development and utilization of renewable energy is very important for low carbon development in Tianjin. This paper analyzes the current use of solar energy, wind power, geothermal energy, biomass energy and other renewable energy in Tianjin, and discusses the problems and countermeasures. The findings show that the major weaknesses of renewable energy utilization in Tianjin include high cost, insufficient support from policies and regulations, weak public awareness of renewable energy use, and lack of comprehensive utilization of renewable energy. In order to advance renewable energy utilization in Tianjin, more efforts should be made to introduce advanced technology, develop creative talents, increase policy support, improve standard system, strengthen cooperation among various industries and departments, and produce appropriate propaganda to let public realize the real benefits and convenience of renewable energy utilization.

Abstract: CI-340 portable photosynthesis test system and JYM-B leaf area meter were employed to observe the physiological velocity and leaf area index of 25 widely used afforestation plants in Tianjin. The results indicate that the diurnal change curve of net photosynthesis rates of 25 experimental species has one or two peaks. The daily carbon sequestration and oxygen release per unit leaf area are respectively 3.98-13.01 g/( m2·d) and 2.9-9.46 g/( m2·d). Among arbors, the order of carbon sequestration and oxygen release capabilities per unit leaf area is Ulmus pumila >Fraxinus velutina>Sophora japonica>Salix matsudana f. pendula>Malus micromalus cv.‘American’>Koelreuteria paniculata>Acer truncatum>Ulmus pumila cv. ‘jinye’>Prunus davidiana>Malus micromalus>Cotinus coggygria > Rhus typhina> Platanus orientalis>Catalpa speciosa>Diospyros kaki> Morus alba cv. ‘Tortuosa’. Among shrubs, the order is Weigela florida>Euonymus japonicus>Cercis chinensis>Ligustrum vicaryi >Sorbaria sorbifolia> Syringa oblata > Lonicera maackii >Cornus alba>Lonicera japonica.

Abstract: This research makes a tentative study on generation of construction and demolition waste (CDW) in the city of Tianjin. Based on statistic data on construction area, amounts of construction waste, renewal transformation waste and decoration waste are estimated respectively, and summed up to the result of total CDW generation from 1996 to 2012. It shows that total CDW generation in urban area of Tianjin is up to 19.11 million tons in 2012.

Abstract: Tianjin Harbor Economic Area is one of the important functional areas of Tianjin Binhai New Area. At present, its artificial wetland ecological construction has started running. In this paper, the comprehensive benefits of artificial ecological wetland are analyzed in terms of ecological, social, economic. Including the industrial park wastewater treatment, water conservation, increase biodiversity, promote regional low-carbon development, beautify the landscape of industrial parks, produce the best possible results of ecological publicity and education function and promote regional economic development. The analysis showed that the artificial ecological wetland in Tianjin Harbor Economic Area has broad application prospects for such large-scale industrial parks, and it can be used as demonstration to promote ecological industrial park construction.

Abstract: The paper designed questionnaires to examine status of environmental problems among social problemsHow does the people place the environmental problem in their mind could be an important factor in surveying the ponderance of the local environmental problem. The environmental problem was placed in a relatively higher rate by be chosen at the first rank.and has become a key problem in concern by groups of answerers.

Abstract: This paper is based on STIRPAT model, combined with backcasting theory, using ridge regression analysis to analyze the related data of Tianjin from 1996 to 2011.This paper aims to explore the influences of the five driving factors on the carbon emissions in Tianjin, including population, affluent degrees, Energy intensity, Urbanization rate and the ratio of the tertiary industry. This paper is trying to make policy recommendations to change these influential factors, thus, to decrease the urban carbon degree.

Abstract: As the sewage treatment keeps increasing every year, the sludge output from municipal sewage plant increases dramatically. The emission of the sludge without proper treatment pollutes the water and the atmosphere again. It not only slows down the effectiveness of sewage treatment systems, but also threatens the environment and humans activity. In this paper, the current situation of sludge treatment was explored. Based on the systematic research on sludge treatment of municipal sewage plants in Tianjin, some current problems were pointed out. The advices about sludge treatment of municipal sewage plant in Tianjin are outlined.
