Abstract: In order to solve the variable speed control as non-linear in wind energy application, it is important to obtain wind energy efficiently. And it is also effective in suppressing output fluctuation. Therefore, it will become a main torque system in the wind generation. The main object of this paper is to present a developed non-contact torque sensor for applying of non-linear control in the wind generator. In this paper, it examines whether efficient torque measurement of output shaft in the wind generation would be maintainable by non-linear control methods.

Abstract: In order to meet the testing accuracy of torque in the test of biological bone tissue torsion behavior, a strain gauge torque sensor based on multi-beam structure is designed. The mechanical model of the torque sensor is given and the parameters of the elastic beam structure have been optimized by finite element analysis. Finally the material of the structure and processing technology are determined and static calibration is carried out. Experimental results show that the linearity is 0.9% and the sensitivity is 0.14mV/V in the measurement range from 0 to 0.5Nm with 0.3% resolution.

Abstract: In order to solve some problem of torque measuring for automatically controlled system, a new non-contact torque sensor based on the amorphous alloy was discussed in the paper. At first the principle and structure of the sensor were presented .then output characteristic, sensitivity and the non-linear error of the sensor were analyzed. Finally, an experiment of measuring torque was made on a test stand. The experimental result shows the sensors have some characteristic such as higher sensitivity and simpler structure and is convenient for installation.

Abstract: In this paper, a design of modularized flexible joint servo controller on-chip for a space manipulator system is presented. First of all, the structure and sensor system of dual-joint is introduced. The structural optimization design of the joint torque sensor is carried out with the help of the ANSYS program for weight minimization. Next, the features of the hardware system for the dual-joint controller are described. All sensor information collection within the joints are obtained with FPGA hardware logic elements using System-on-a-Programmable-Chip technology, and the joint space trajectory planning and position control are realized by Nios II soft-core processor, which is embedded in FPGA. Finally, experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the compact joint servo controller for the space manipulator system.

Abstract: In the detection of the oil viscosity, rotatory viscometer continues using viscosity-torque transduce principle. Its most trouble of detection structure is the system accuracy problem caused by the elastic element output torque. Development of high precision torque sensor is one of the key technologies to improve the accuracy of torque measurement. This paper, in detail, introduces the detection principle of rotatory viscometer, the working principle of the hairspring, and the specific design of hairspring, which includes the materials, diameter, length, coils of hairspring.

Abstract: Torque measurement of transmission shaft has problems such as signal transmission, limited installation space and signal disturbance. In this paper proposes an embedded capacitive grid torque sensor. Through a special installation the output of capacitive grid sensor is proportional to twist angle, then torque can be calculated. The two electrodes of capacitive grid sensor can be embedded into the bearing and shaft respectively that reduces installation space, to improve the testability of transmission shaft. Experiments show that capacitive grid sensor performs high reliability and is able to be used in the case of strict environmental requirements in long time.

Abstract: In an electric power steering (EPS) system, it is important to make a precise and reliable measurement of the torque on the steering wheel. A non-contact torque sensor has been developed for EPS system. The sensor is based on a magnetic principle that the magnetic flux path is changed with the torsion of a torsion bar which is placed in the steering shaft. The change of magnetic flux density in the working airgap is detected by a standard Hall-effect IC. The sensor has broad prospects for its good performance, simple structure and low cost. This paper introduces the torque sensor’s working principle, analyzes the magnetic circuit by 3D simulation, and concludes its key technologies and development trends.

Abstract: Transmission load was one of the important parameters for engineering vehicle powertrain system, on the basis of calculating drive shaft torque values and ascertaining the measurement point positions, we selected resistance strain guages to design torque sensors and also chose a signal telemetry system, after using a self-made torque calibration bench to statically calibrate torque sensors, we developed a test system for loader drive shaft load. According to the given test program, we performed an actual loader experiment to measure torque at the loader drive shaft measurement points and analyzed the test waveforms. The results of bench calibration and actual loader test showed that the designed torque sensors had a high sensitivity and a good linearity, and the developed test system was correct and effective.
