Abstract: The experiment studied effects of paper on the height and glossiness of UV ink-jet 3D printing. The results showed that there all existed penetrations between the 1st ink layer and three kinds of paper, the bigger the roughness and bulk of paper were, the larger the penetration was, and penetration between the 1st ink and paper was obviously larger than that between two ink layers. Penetration between two ink layers was stable, almost not affected by paper. The bigger the roughness and bulk of paper were, the smaller the glossiness of ink layer was. There appeared directional ink strips on ink layer on three kinds of paper, beginning from the 3rd ink layer, there also appeared ink pits on ink layer on paper whose roughness and bulk were the biggest, which showed printer precision was also an important factor for the glossiness, apart from paper. Thus, the tight and smooth paper should be selected in UV ink-jet 3D printing. Before printing, pretreatment should be done to exclude the influence of the 1st ink layer and the ink strips.

Abstract: A new method of reproducing oil paintings is presented in this paper. Implemented by 3D printing, this method can duplicate oil paintings with embossing effect as the same as the stereo brushstrokes in the original paintings. Firstly we use a laser scanner to detect the surface morphology and establish the 3D model of the painting. Next we analyze the UV ink thickness of the UV LED flatbed printer. After these experiments, a slicing strategy was proposed for 3D printing. Lastly, the 3D reproduction is printed by the UV LED flatbed printer.

Abstract: This work aims at presenting a new method for reproducing oil paintings via 3D printing. We used a laser scanner to detect the surface morphology of an oil painting and found it was capable to print the stereo brushstrokes through layered printing after analyzing the UV ink thickness of type UJF-3024 ink-jet printer. Base on the 3D model we established, a slicing strategy was proposed for 3D printing. An experiment was conducted to validate feasibility of the method. Ultimately, the method has proven to be comparatively effective.

Abstract: UV spectrophotometer was used to measure UV transmittance spectrum of pigment and photo-initiators to identify the light transmitting window of a pigment and photo-initiatorsabsorption peak , then later the types of photo-initiators was determined . In order to determine the optimal assignment of monomers, dispersing agent, defoaming agent and dispersing resin, the uniform design method was supplied to achieve the smallest particle diameter within the range of D95. After the excellent configuration of based ink, the orthogonal design methodwas used to determine the proportion of based ink, photo-initiators, film-forming resin, additives by regarding viscosity, surface tension, curing speed, and color fastness as indicators.

Abstract: The migration behavior of UV ink photoinitiators from the substance of the food packaging to the food is simulated by photoinitiator spectrometry analysis. The different food simulants 10% ethanol, 95% ethanol and 97% isooctane migration behavior of the photoinitiators 1-Hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone (184) are simulated on the polyethylene (PE) coated paper 4018,4025 and 4918 PE coated layer at different temperatures of 30°C, 45°C and 60°C. The qualitative and quantitative analysis is done using infrared spectroscopy and ultraviolet spectrophotometry. It is discussed that the effect of the temperature, swelling, PE lamination layer thickness as well as the paper thickness of pollutants by the different thickness of the polymer coating on the migration to food simulants.

Abstract: Four kinds of monomers were chosen to prepare ink to research the effect of monomer on the ink transfer performance of UV waterless offset and improve the printing quality. The rheological properties such as viscosity, yield value, thixotropy and stickiness were tested and the ink transfer equation was built, the ink transfer rate was calculated and the effect of monomer on the ink transfer performance was analyzed through the ink transfer experiment. The research results show that the type of monomers has large impact on the rheological properties of UV waterless offset, so the ink transfer performances with different kinds of monomers are different. And the viscosity, thixotropy, yield value and stickiness of the ink with TPGDA and EOEOEA are little, the ink transfer performance is better.

Abstract: The packaging of food, beverages, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, cosmetics and other goods requires higher property of security and some special functionality such as the property of anti-bacterial; the property of anti-bacterial can be achieved by using anti-bacterial agent in the ink. In this paper, a kind of zinc-copper antibacterial agent was made by attached the metal Zn2+, Cu2+on the zeolite by ion exchange and the zeolite modified was used as a carrier; Than the zinc-copper anti-bacterial UV ink was prepared by mixing and grinding zinc-copper antibacterial agent, polyester acrylate, HDDA, TMPTA, titanium dioxide and other element of UV ink; Finally the property of anti-bacterial of Escherichia.coli(anti-E.coli) and staphylococcus aureus were tested; this paper focus on the analysis and discussion of the influence of different concentration antibacterial agent on the property of ink. This study has some practical significance to the research on the property on anti-bacterial of ink.

Abstract: UV ink has many advantages such as less pollution, high curing speed, saving energy, so it has been widely applied in traditional printing and emerging digital printing. In this paper, the two curing principles in UV ink which are free-radical curing and cationic curing, are discussed and compared, and the factors that affect the curing rate are analyzed through the comparing experiment of the curing rate. In the last, the selection principle of photoinitiator is established by means of analyzing and comparing curing rate when various photoinitiator or photoinitiator combinations is used in UV-cured ink. These studies have certain significance for improving the curing efficiency of UV ink and its application.

Abstract: Packaging security and functionality has been the research focus. In recent years, people pay more attention to the functionality of ink used in packaging. In this paper, a kind of zinc-copper antibacterial agent was made by attached the metal Zn2+, Cu2+ on the zeolite by ion exchange and the zeolite modified was used as a carrier; Than the zinc-copper anti-bacterial UV ink was prepared by mixing and grinding zinc-copper antibacterial agent, polyester acrylate, HDDA, TMPTA, titanium dioxide and other element of UV ink; The UV ink prepared was printed on paper. When the UV ink printed was dried, the property of anti-Escherichia.coli(anti-E.coli) and anti-staphylococcus aureus of UV ink prepared was tested by the anti-bacterial experiment. This study has good application prospect in the area of safety packaging.

Abstract: In order to observe the influence of monomer on the printing quality of UV waterless offset ink, ink samples with different monomer were made, and the main performance parameters such as viscosity, thixotropy, yield value, fluidity and stickiness were tested. Proofing by printability tester, and the printing qualities such as solid density, gloss, dot gain and print contrast were tested. Analyzing the influence of the difference of ink performance that caused by monomer on the printing quality of UV waterless ink. The results show that ink performances affect the printing quality directly. The differences of monomer’s structure and functionality have great effect on ink’s performance such as viscosity, thixotropy, yield value, fluidity and stickiness, and it can lead to the difference of printing quality such as solid density, gloss, dot gain, and print contrast.
