Abstract: Based on the analysis and summary of 19 PEIA cases of urban rail transit (URT) planning, this paper pointed out the major problems on PEIA of URT in practice, such as the depth of environmental impact prediction was inadequate, Optimal comments to URT Planning were not operational, and Public Participation was not representative etc. In response to these problems, this paper put forward some suggestions on both of regulating the technical means of PEIA for URT and improving the capacity of PEIA technical personnel. It could be helpful to improve the scientificity and practicity of PEIA for of urban rail transit planning in China.

Abstract: In this paper, two novel structures of linear double salient permanent magnet (LDSPM) motor having magnets and armature windings in primary are proposed and compared. Firstly, the design principles of both motors are presented. Then, for a fair comparison, two motors are designed based on the same primary dimensions including the slot area, teeth number, pole pitch, permanent magnet volumes and coils number per phase, while the stator pole pitch and the primary structure are different. Finally, the configurations and static characteristics of both motors are critically compared based on finite element (FE) analysis. The results indicate that the proposed topology can avoid the asymmetry of back-EMF waveforms and reduce cogging force and thrust force ripple. Also, the proposed primary permanent magnet linear motors are suitable for the longer stator application such as urban rail transit (URT).

Abstract: This paper researches the influence of urban rail transit based transportation structure on development of dispersed multi-center city. After the studies of the features of urban rail transit and characteristics of city forms, we constructed the snowflake-shaped transportation structure model of dispersed multi-center city, which took urban rail transit as the backbone of transport network. Finally we analyzed the feedback effect from urban rail based transportation to the development of urban form.

Abstract: This paper presents the operation practices of Urban Rail Transit during the Word Expo 2010 period in Shanghai. The overall traffic strategy of the Expo and the role of urban rail transit system are first introduced. The focal points of this paper are operation schemes during the Expo, such as train arrangement, passenger flow organization, emergency response, and the coordination with other transport modes. The paper concludes that the Expo travel demand can be met well without sacrificing local urban daily traffic. To have a good linkage with other transport modes as well as the Expo, urban rail transit should play its role in the framework of overall traffic strategy. And in today’s international events, guidance measures including various media are more and more important in the transportation demand management. Practices in Shanghai also show that management of transit stations and information sharing among different public transport systems should be improved.

Abstract: As for the current background that China sets off a new round of urban rail transit development, the paper in-depth analyzes the differences in running characteristics and technical features between urban rail transmission and conventional public transportation, and explores functional coordinated complementary relationship and necessity of integrated planning of urban rail transmission and conventional public transportation. Then, the principles, main contents and safeguard mechanism of coordinated planning of integration of urban rail transit and conventional public transportation can be concluded and summarized in order to provide theoretical support for realizing the efficiency and convenience of urban public transportation system.

Abstract: This paper presents a novel pedestrian detection and recognition method based on a new photoelectric sensor layout for increasing the recognition rate and the recognition speed of the Automatic Gate Machine (AGM). First of all, a new sensors layout is designed. Next, by collecting the time and sequence of pedestrian breaking the rays of the sensors, an algorithm of combining the time sequence analysis and event analysis is developed to detect and judgment the legality of the pedestrians so that the gate of the AGM is either opened or closed. Then, the algorithm is implemented by software method and FPGA method respectively. Finally, the experiments on the prototype of AGM prove that the recognition rate and the recognition speed are increased effectively.

Abstract: The emergency disposal of urban rail transit needs to accurately estimate the emergency range and total affected passenger flow volume. The urban rail transit network could be simplified to an abstract model which is easy to be analyst based on the graph theory method. Considering the actual network back-turning lines and vehicle storage tracks of urban rail network, the emergency range could be estimated effectively. The affected passenger flow could be classified as different kinds based on the different paths of passenger flow. The classification of passenger flow mainly includes “delay passenger flow”, “detour passenger flow” and “loss passenger flow”. Considering the emergency range, the different affected passenger flows could be superposed over time based on the abstract model, then the affected passenger flow volume and virtual loss time could be calculated out. The results could provide basis for the emergency disposal in urban rail transit. The example analysis is verified the feasibility of this method.

Abstract: Under the background of rapid development of urban rail transit, how it effectively guides land exploitation and utilization becomes the key of urban land exploitation. Based upon the analysis of the land exploitation modes guided by urban rail transit home and abroad, this paper compares and analysis the relevant factors of land exploitation guided by urban rail transit, and proposes some suggestions for the land exploitation and utilization guided by urban rail transit in China.

Abstract: Urban rail transit plays a role of activating and leading regional economic development. It influences the spatial distribution of urban agglomeration and the progress of regional economic integration. It is a kind of virtuously cycled interactive relationship between regional economic development and regional rail transit. This paper analyzes the effect of urban rail transit construction project on regional economy based on the economic benefits arisen from it. The research results show that China’s urban rail transit construction and regional economy can not realize balanced development unless the fact that the relationship between urban rail transit planning and regional economic development can be well coordinated, and meanwhile, the construction scale and service level of different phases of rail transit can be confirmed according to urban economic development level.

Abstract: Analyze the sudden failure influence to urban rail transit normal operation, has important significance to grasp the key of failure emergency treatment. This paper take moving block mode for example, first by use of multi-particle traction model, general consider the passenger comfort, safety control and other factors, design the multi-train tracking calculate model. Then according to the different influence to urban rail transit operation, classify the sudden failure into two kinds: sudden train failure and sudden section break off failure, analyze the multi-train movement simulate arithmetic under the two kinds of failure, based on this, design the simulation system’s workflow, build the urban rail transit multi-train movement simulate system under sudden failure. Finally, by analyze the calculate results of two kinds of failure, verified the system’s validity. Simulate urban rail transit multi-train movement process under sudden failure can master the detail instance about failure influence operation, deeply analysis the infect’s diffusion process caused by failure or delay, provide a powerful assist analyze tool to analysis the network’s operation reliability, constitute correlative emergency plan.
