Abstract: In this paper we will discuss about the development of IE4 level motor proposed by IEC, which is new target for international efficiencies. Efficiency classes IE1-IE4 are defined in international standard IEC 60034-30. The draft version of IEC 60034-31 defines the new class IE4. The IE-codes replaces the former voluntary Eff classification of electric motors as shown in Table 1. The Eff classes are based on a voluntary agreement between the EU and the CEMEP in 1998.Table 1 Minimum energy performance standards for electric motors.

Abstract: This paper presents results of magnetic characteristic analysis of a three-phase three-leg transformer model core. In the analysis, the finite element method considering vector magnetic properties expressed by the integration-type E&S modelling is used. In this research, in order to reduce total iron loss, local vector magnetic properties for some different T-jointed models are compared in detail. Distributions of maximum flux density, maximum field strength, axis ratio and iron loss depending on the T-jointed position are clarified.

Abstract: This paper presents distributions of the local vector magnetic properties in a three-phase induction motor model core measured with a new vector hysteresis sensor (V-H sensor). The exciting conditions used in the measurements were common sinusoidal and PWM excitation. The influence of the modulation frequency on vector magnetic properties is made clear.

Abstract: This paper presents comparison of feedback control algorisms of magnetic flux conditions in two-dimensional vector magnetic property measurements under high magnetic field over 1.6 T. In order to develop a fast measurement algorism, several PID feedback control methods were tested. The results show that the proportion-derivative precedence type (I-PD) control is suitable for reduction of measurement times in vector magnetic property measurements.
