Abstract: Optical system is important and optimized for highly spatial resolution in certain wavelength bandwidth. We tested three small refractor telescopes with different aperture (two telescopes with 80 mm in diameter and one with 66 mm diameter) and focal-length (544 mm, 400 mm, and 389 mm, respectively) in order to know the resolution from visual to near infra red regions. The images of sinusoidal bar test chart were recorded from CCD detector. The reference filter of Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) is also attached in front of detector. The filters have the range of G (401-550 nm), R (555-695 nm), I (690-820 nm), Z (>820 nm), Z_s (826-920 nm), and Y (950-1058 nm). The last filter is referred to the limit of quantum efficiency of the detector. The maximum frequency for each pixel from each Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) was performed. We found that smaller diameter telescope is better resolution in the visual wavelength than the wider diameter and longer focal-length. In the near infra red region, the opposite results were obtained. The coating lens quality may affect the wavelength dependences. This study has advantages of selecting low cost and high resolution optical system for different applications, e.g. very young crescent moon observation, etc.

Abstract: The development and construction of the smart grid require the efficient integration of the communication data of the grid enterprises, the optimization of operation and management of the grid. The paper introduces the characteristics and the requirements of the construction of the grid panoramic information platform, in allusion to the heterogeneous professional application system and the information isolated island phenomenon in power grid. The paper designs the panoramic information system frame based on the service oriented architecture (SOA) and proposes the schemes of the panoramic information integration and the information integration solution, providing a firm basic information platform for the unified management, production and operation and the forewarning decision of the smart grid.

Abstract: The platform uses three-dimensional data modeling, visual simulation and spatial data storage to make the business of regulation center, operation and maintenance center and marketing and management center of Beijing Power grid implement visualized operation, and load the spatial information data, equipment data and operation data of Beijing power grid into the system platform, and the data is displayed with the form of graphic or image, which not only realizes managing space resource data in real three-dimensional scene, but also make the system operator to know the operation state of the system directly, and makes the control measures more effective. And the paper uses virtual reality technology to establish visual scene of ground to realize integrated visual display of power transformation, power transmission and power distribution, which not only makes the producers, managers and decision makers directly master the situation of production line in power station, but also realizes that producers and managers affiliate decision makers to formulate production plan.

Abstract: Many service mobile robots have an articulated robotic manipulator mounted on their platform. The mobile platform extends the workspace of the arm, whereas the arm offers several operational functionalities. The basic idea is to mount two cameras to the robotic arm. One camera provides the perception of the surrounding environment and navigation of the robot, the second one located on the robot arm provides for the perception of the object of cooperation. This paper deals with an early-stage design process of the mentioned robotic manipulator using dual visual perception. It includes kinematic, dynamic and stress-strength analysis. For the kinematic analysis the homogeneous matrix method and for dynamic analysis the Newton-Euler method has been used. These analyses are required for control solution.

Abstract: The traditional digital control system generally adopted wired communication, and the operator panel and display system were usually separate, thus having adverse effect on production efficiency. In this study, a wireless visual control system based on microcontroller unit (MCU) was designed, which included a wireless router, a USB webcam, ATmega8L MCU, MG995 servo, and C # language development. This system not only achieved the goals of visual monitoring and control of industrial production by integrating the control panel and display system, but could also improve production and save the cost of industrial energy consumption. The system has been applied in energy-saving control system of thermal power plants.

Abstract: The most important situation of textile companies is to design products which much more meeting the consumers feeling. In this paper, 4 kinds of silk fabrics were taken as the objects, 4 physiological targets were used such as electromyography (EMG), skin resistance (SC), skin temperature (ST), and respiration (Resp) from tactile and visual cognition. The aim of this research is to find out the physiological evidence of consumers in tactile and visual for textile. As the result shown that, accompanied by touch and watch, skin resistance and electromyography have obvious regularity undulation, and there were large discrepancy in each objects, however, skin temperature and respiration had little correlation. In a word, physiological indicators can be used as silk fabrics cognitive quantitative evaluation basis in tactile and visual more intuitively and conveniently.

Abstract: According to the demands of teaching, it is designed and manufactured that a new visual model of CNC turning lathe with assembles the horizontal bed and inclined bed in one. As it can display the structure of CNC lathe directly and intuitively, the model can be used for the teaching of CNC courses. The model has micro-switch, which can be used to control the movement of the workplace, and the automatic feed strokes of the tool, thus avoiding the collisions during manufacturing. Meanwhile, the test proved that it can cut the nylon, wood, engineering plastics and so on, so this model can satisfy the demands of teaching.

Abstract: This report is the result of a joint project involving the Department of Architectural Science from Ryerson University (RU) and the Architecture and Urban Planning stream from China Three Gorges University (CTGU). It compares and analyzes these technologies in detail and provides some guidance in selecting economically effective approaches to retrofitting large public buildings. It focus on structure thermal and visual in order to identify the current problems with the envelope, analyze the problems, and propose remedial strategies that can increase the performance of the system.
