Abstract: The networks of interdependencies in large-scale Object Oriented software systems are complex, visualization and understand become the important issues for developer. We propose that topology structure can be imaged to network and better understood via core structure decomposition based on complex networks. The core structure analysis allows characterizing networks beyond the degree distribution and uncovering some potential characteristics, Such as structural hierarchies, centrality and evolution. We analyze the core structure of some popular open source software and discuss the differences and similarities, get some noticeable properties, the result show the method provides an interesting view helping to comprehend and evaluate system in development.

Abstract: Industrial computed tomography (ICT) is an advanced non-contact non-destructive testing technique and plays a key role in many fields. Low imaging efficiency is one of the drawbacks of ICT towards engineering applications. In this paper, we report the design and realization of real-time three-dimensional Visualization System for ICT based on visualization toolkit (VTK) and the graphics processing unit (GPU) technique. It greatly improves the imaging speed by developing the new techniques in three aspects such as image reconstruction, data compression and fast volume rendering with GPU and VTK. It will find applications in three-dimensional ICT systems.

Abstract: A Soil Deformation Measurement System using OPENCV library and FFTW library in C++ was developed in this paper. The system applied camera calibration based on neural network and Fasst Fourier Transform (FFT) cross-correlation algorithm for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). It is used to obtain soil deformation data, such as displacements, velocity and strain, and visualize the deformation. Experiments show that this system could acquire deformation data from soil images accurately, efficiently and continuously, which provides a strong proof that image processing technology has practical significance and application value in the research field of geotechnical engineering.

Abstract: A kind of modeling method of regular ground object in virtual city was proposed through splicing certain spatial simple geometries based on VC++ and OpenGL, which combining the ground objects’ characteristics with modeling realistic demand. This method firstly generated some basic shapes (cylinder, cone or sphere) which were the constituent parts of regular ground object, by using simplified 3D basic geometry modeling method of OpenGL. Then joined these basic shapes together by doing coordinate transformation to construct the regular ground object. The case of modeling street lamp was taken as an example to introduce the ground object’s modeling methods and visualization technology. The modeling process just need calculating a small number of coordinates, and the amount of data is also very low. Experimental results show that generated models looks very real.

Abstract: With the increasing development of the power system, particularly, with the proposing of smart grid and the applying of distributed generation technology, the traditional geographic information system (GIS) which relies on the tables, graphs, has become more and more difficult to meet the needs of power system equipment management, and planning. Three-dimensional (3D) GIS has developed to meet the requirement appropriately. In this paper, we choose ArcGIS as the development platform, ESRI CityEngine 2011 and Google SketchUp as the 3D modeling software. By combining the virtual reality(VR) technology and image synthesis technology, a 3D power distribution system is established, which realizes the 3D physical simulation of the transmission lines, electrical equipment, power distribution stations, and distributed generators. This methodology provides a new vision for the modernization of the power distribution system management.

Abstract: Most algorithms for the high-dimensional data clustering are not intuitive and the clustering results are difficult to explain. To solve these problems, a new method based on the interactive visualization technology was proposed in this paper. First, the entropy-weight was adopted to determine the main attributes and how to arrange them. Every data was described in an improved radar chart in which polar radius stood by attribute values and polar angles stood by the attribute weights. Then the points in the radar chart were clustered through applying an improved k-means algorithm. The number of clusters was not given before. And initial centers were optimized according to the point density and their distance. Finally, the experiment showed that the improved radar chart reflected the distribution of the data better and that the improved k-means algorithm was more efficient and accuracy.

Abstract: A miniature loop heat pipe (MLHP) with a glass condenser was designed and manufactured. Stress analysis on compensation chamber/evaporator and glass condenser is made to confirm strength of loop heat pipe using the software MSC NASTRAN. Results indicate this new structure loop heat pipe can meet the design requirements and secure to work well. A system level performance analysis was made about heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics inside loop heat pipe using the software of SINDA/FLUINT. This miniature loop heat pipe realized visualization research of phase change phenomenon to some extent.

Abstract: In view of the characteristics of threaded binary tree and visualization of the problem,,it is realized the visualization of binary tree by using object-oriented method and the features of complete binary tree, and then achieved the visualization of threaded binary tree by using the COM component technology and the Bezier curve. This makes the tree related operations more intuitive, nice interactive performance, real-time.

Abstract: Visualization of a journal network is to show the topology of journals reference in a graphic way so as to observe their interaction and importance. A reference network was drawn from the force-directed algorithm, and then compared to the degree centrality and betweenness centrality of the network, and analyzed with their compound influencing factor and core index by Pearson correlation coefficients at last. The results show that the force-directed layout algorithm can effectively reflect the referential status and relations of the library and information (LI) journals, and the importance of a journal can be determined from the layout in a visual and direct way.
