Abstract: Energy efficiency is a key factor to improve WSNs’ performance, and hierarchical routing algorithms are fitter in large scale networks and have more reliability, so they are mostly used to improve the nodes’ energy efficiency now. In this paper, mainly existing hierarchical routing algorithms are introduced, and based on these researches, a new energy efficient hierarchical routing algorithm designed based on energy aware semi-static clustering method is proposed. In this algorithm named EASCA, the nodes’ residual energy and cost of communication would both be considered when clustering. And a special packet head is defined to update nodes’ energy information when transmitting message; to rotate cluster head automatically, a member management scheme is designed to complete this function; and a re-cluster mechanism is used to dynamic adjust the clusters to make sensor nodes organization more reasonable. At last, EASCA is compared with other typical hierarchical routing algorithms in a series of experiments, and the experiments’ result proves that EASCA has obviously improved WSNs’ energy efficiency.

Abstract: Chaotic encryption algorithm is simple, fast speed, no more memory, and suitable for using in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). This paper points out the defect of the iteration encryption and the fact that it’s vulnerable to chosen-plaintext attack. In this paper, a feedback chaotic encryption algorithm is proposed to improve the program that not only effectively avoid the defects, but maintain all the advantages of chaotic encryption algorithm. The improved algorithm is more suitable for small data encryption used in WSNs.

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is taking an increasing role in our lives. Because the energy of the sensors is limited how to efficiently use the energy to prolong the lifecycle of the sensor networks is very important. In this paper, a novel energy-balanced dynamic routing algorithm based on ACO is proposed. The novel routing algorithm can dynamically choose routing according to the residual energy of the sensors and the sensors with more power is taken more data transfer tasks. The simulation results show that the proposed routing algorithm can effectively balance energy consumption and prolong the lifecycle of the networks.

Abstract: This paper proposes a new scale-free network BA Improved Model (BAIM) for the scale-free topology of WSNs intrusion tolerance issues. Through analyzing the power law index of the network invulnerability and topology of fault tolerance, the results of BAIM in the topology of the network survivability maximize the optimal network topology. Simulation results show that BAIM can not only keep the scale-free network robust to random failures, and but also improve the scale-free network vulnerability against intentional attacks and prolong the network lifetime.
