Abstract: To improve scratch-resistance and abrasion-resistance of water-based varnish, change the type of water-based resin, the type and content of wax emulsion and flow agent, then test scratch-resistance and abrasion-resistance of water-based varnish. The results show that resin and wax emulsion has a great influence on the scratch-resistance and abrasion-resistance of water-based varnish. Adding appropriate amount of wax emulsion can improve scratch-resistance and abrasion-resistance to some extent. Adding flow agent has certain influence on scratch-resistance of water-based varnish.

Abstract: The water-based pigment ink jet emulsion whose particle size was less than 100nm was synthesized by the polymerization of methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate and ethylhexyl acrylate, and anionic reactive surfactant and nonionic surfactant were used as the emulsifiers. The effects of particle size and water resistance were studied. The glass transition temperature was tested by differential scanning calorimetry. The average particle size of emulsion was range from 60nm to70nm, zeta potential value was less than -60mv; viscosity was 3.5mps; water absorption was 5.9%.

Abstract: Water-based varnish is prone to generate a lot of bubbles when it is processed or used. The bubbles can cause coating defects during coating, so the film quality is not very well. Adding defoamer in varnish can quickly eliminate the bubbles. Changing the type and amount of the defoamer prepared varnish and tested its defoaming properties to discussion the influence of defoamer on defoaming properties of water-based varnish. The results show that the performance of different defoamers defoaming is different, and Foamex 810 has the best defoaming properties. The amount of adding defoamer impacts defoaming properties to a certain extent. When water-based varnish added Foamex 810 with the amount of 1% in, the defoaming efficiency comes to the peak 96%.
