Abstract: Spherical stern bearing is kind of new bearing, which combines ordinary water lubricated stern bearing with sphere bearing. It has function to adjust contact situation of stern bearing and stern shaft automatically, decreases pressure peak, leads to pressure distribution on the bearing being more uniform, helps to overcome the problem of local overload to avoid edge effect and improves damping performance. On the base of the ANSYS software, the contact deformation and pressure calculation of spherical stern bearing are carried out to compare with ordinary stern bearing and analyse the effectiveness of reducing pressure on bearing, optimization problems of the sphere position and sphere diameter are discussed, which shows that the contact pressure achieves a minimum when the sphere is located at intermediate position of bearing bush and the maximum contact pressure decreases with the increase of sphere diameter, and they have linear relation.

Abstract: Water-lubricated thrust bearing is a key component of certain main pump motor. In this paper, the right structure of water-lubricated thrust graphite bearings is designed based on low viscosity hydrodynamic lubrication theory by combining the bearings running working condition, and the frictional accessory material is also determined by theoretical analysis and test. The factors influencing lubrication performances of water-lubricated thrust bearings are analyzed; the methods improving lubrication performances are put forward to guarantee that water-lubricated thrust graphite bearings have the good lubrication performances, good carrying capacity and longer work life.

Abstract: Manufacture process parameters will be obtained from experiments in research. Molding technology determines the mechanical properties and performance of the product. The influence of molding temperature and time are significant on the performance of water lubricated bearing, the plastic alloy is based on latex material, synthesized with different fillings, accelerators and other matters, and displays great mechanical and friction properties. The main performance included peel strength, tensile strength and wearing capacity. Optimization of manufacture process parameters and the orthogonal experiments on them were carried out by integrating the results of experiments and finally the optimal manufacture process was achieved. In the experiment, three-leveled orthogonal tests were conducted for the three systems to test the tensile strength, tearing strength, stress at definite elongation, hardness and tensile rate. The impacts of the respective systems were analyzed and the content of each component are determined to get the optimal formula.
