Abstract: The system is the transporting water mobile robot based on Kinetis K10. In this paper, the hardware circuit and system software are designed reasonably to achieve the robot transport water from origin to destination. The mobile robot can transport water along the black guide lines (any shape) forward and backward. A Kinetis K10 MCU is adopted as the main controller, which is developed by Freescale Semiconductor Company. The line walking, LCD display, water level detection, water storage, water transporting and water pumping are designed detailedly in the smart carring water system.

Abstract: In order to develop realistic water resources strategy, we initially analyze the situation of water resources in the United States which present a significant regional difference. Then on the basis of previous studies, we propose the cost formulas of water storage, movement and desalinization. By analyzing the practical application, along with pros and cons of the above three solutions accordingly, we consider that a comprehensive utilization of these measures will be the best water strategy for America to solve the water shortage problem. Later we apply the conclusion to a case study of Southern California, we propose an optimization model which aims to minimize the total cost of the water strategy, and then use Lingo to solve the problem. Results show that 5.946 billion cubic meters of water by transferring is the best way to make up for the water use gap in 2025 and the total cost is 2.94 billion dollars. Finally, we summarize the strengths and weaknesses of our paper. What needs to be emphasized is that our model can also be adapted into the analysis of other states, which shows great flexibility.

Abstract: With the Three Gorges reservoir built up, the water level rises sharply and the low construction water level in dry season does not exist. The relatively low water level is in draw-off period and building port faces long time of deep water level and precipitous fluctuation of water level in flood period. There are huge quantities under water. The construction period of low water level is short and the height of water level is up to 30 meters. Port construction is more difficult and complex at the Three Gorge reservoir region. This paper aims at these situations and puts forward the port constructing technique in deep water areas. It will provide guidance and reference in wharf construction.

Abstract: Seasonal drought and soil erosion happened alternately on red soil slope farmland, which severely restricted its full productivity. This project took down-slope tillage as a control and different soil reservoir construction measures’ slopes as subjects, studying their soil reservoir storage function and dynamic change of water storage, in order to study the mechanism of water-retaining and regulating capability in different soil reservoir construction measures’ slopes. The results show that the max. and min. volume of water storage in pits Ⅰ, pits Ⅱ, pin hole Ⅰand pin hole Ⅱare 19.67%, 32.14%, 17.61%, 17.17% and 14.06%, 16.46%, 10.20%, 11.82% higher than the control respectively. Monthly changes of water storage in different soil layers of the control were more than those in construction measures’ slopes farmland, which were minimal in pit Ⅱ, Water storage increased first and then decressed with the increase of soil depth, but the changes of water storage at 0~40 cm layer were more greater than that at 80~100 cm layer in all the slope farmlands, which provided stronger water regulating capability.

Abstract: As typical shallow lake of the north China plain, Baiyangdian plays an important role on water system composition and water amount adjustment. Its water storage and average annual rainfall of the basin does not exist directly relation and its maintenance of function water amount can only rely on unconventional water supplies and diversion support. The lack of natural entering water and frequent artificially diversion makes Baiyangdian gradually become "artificial lakes". In order to solve the current problems of Baiyangdian, the control of development indexes for Baiyangdian basin water resources urgently needs to be intensified, and water diversion mechanism of basin water amount based on Water subsidise cycle should be established.

Abstract: Water Storage and Controlled-release Film (WSCF) material is a kind of composite film which can form a “small reservoir” in the soil to meet the need of plant growth when packed with water and embedded in soil around tree roots. Coated water-transmitting fiber is a kind of functional fiber which has effect of transmitting water in WSCF material. Different coated water-transmitting fibers were prepared by treating natural fiber using colloidal composite materials made of polyvinyl alcohol and inorganic clay such as Common clay, Kaolin or Bentonite. Furthermore, the water-transmitting capacity and surface morphology of coated water-transmitting fibers were studied by thermal multi-analyzer, instrument for quick moisture measure and SEM. The results show that coated water-transmitting fiber with continuous and compact surface has better water-transmitting capacity than those with uneven surface and the addition amount of clay also can affect the water-transmitting capacity of coated fiber. Additionally, coated water-transmitting fibers can regulate water transferring according to the variation of temperature or soil humidity.

Abstract: The design and construction of concrete water treatment and storage structures in Australia has catered for the existing markets. The next generation of these structures needs a more sophisticated approach. Engineers who analyse and design water treatment plants, or water and liquid storage structures, as well as other complex reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures, will find this paper of interest. Advanced water treatment plants and water factories for recycling domestic and industrial waste water have introduced new complexities into concrete tank design. Two recently constructed Australian water purifying plants provide examples of the theoretical and practical challenges of designing and constructing the large and complex process vessels required by modern plants to produce large volumes of high-quality water.
