Abstract: Construction projects are becoming ever more complex and time driven, especially as the amount of project data and active project participants’ increase. For achieving a project success, project management not only must to meet time, cost, quality objectives, but also satisfies the project stakeholders needs related to the project management process. Project managers were difficult to effectively seizing, collecting and handling information which are generated from different systems. The elements of information presentation in web-based was contributed an important role to project management success.
The purpose of this study is to provide a background to denote the enhancing project management via information presentation based on effective information technology/information systems which are emphasized in web-based.

Abstract: The rapid development of technology and information ( IT) provides learners with a better learning environment with the help of a more advanced means. Nowadays, in China, web-based education is enjoying great popularity because of its undeniable advantages .With its support, the goal of the well-designed curricular can be better achieved and learners’ learning efficiency can be greatly promoted. This paper aims to explore the effect of a new fixed teaching model ( classroom instruction +web-based instruction ) on English majors’ translation competence. Results from the 16-week experiment and in-depth interviews with the participants show that this new model do exert great influences on learners’ learning strategies, which can boost learners’ translation competence as well as their self-directed learning .

Abstract: This paper presents a prototype of GIS (Geographic Information System) and web-based decision support system (GWDSS) for regional water resource management and planning, which is a conjunctive application of GIS, Web and DSS technologies. The components involved and implementation of GWDSS are analyzed. The scenario analysis approach and embedded GIS functions are explained. Through the application of GWDSS in the case study region, GWDSS enables managers and decision makers to improve the regional strategic management and planning of water resources, and optimizes the use of water to satisfy the demands of competing stakeholders and protecting water resources.

Abstract: The current EVP program in China is facing many challenges such as the incomplete teaching reform, misconceptions in the use of network technologies and the lack of in-depth scientific research into English courses and teaching. To address these problems, an ecological teaching model that consists of classroom teaching and teaching in virtual environments by developing a web-based EVP teaching platform is constructed. The teaching platform, designed in accordance with higher vocational college students’ characteristics, adopts the course structure of “basic college English +industry-specific English”, which is effective to stimulate the students’ learning motivation and enhance the teaching quality.

Abstract: Analyzing similarities and differences between biomolecular networks comparison through website intuitively could be a convenient and effective way for researchers. Although several network comparison visualization tools have been developed, none of them can be integrated into websites. In this paper, a web-based tool kit named dynamically adaptive Visualization of Biomolecular Network Comparison (Bio-NCV) is designed and developed. The proposed tool is based on Cytyoscape.js – a popular open-source library for analyzing and visualizing networks. Bio-NCV integrates arjor.js which including the Barnes-Hut algorithm and the Traer Physics library for processing in order to express the dynamically adaptive initialization. In addition, in order to maintain consistency, the counterparts in other networks will change while the nodes and edges in one of the compared networks change. Furthermore, Bio-NCV can deal with both directed and undirected graphs.

Abstract: This paper introduces a Web-based tutoring system for computer programming that provides an integrated environment for web programming. The proposed system is web-based. It provides an online editor for writing, editing, updating, and executing programming code, so the students can execute examples and practical exercises online, it can help a student navigate through the online course materials, recommend learning goals, and generate appropriate reading sequences.. In addition, it provides auto complete and syntax highlighting in editing code, which could help students to remember the syntax more easily. The proposed system provides communication and interactive forum among students and teachers. And it provides the teachers with an online exam system. It monitors, collects and keeps information about students performance and activities. Therefore, teachers can use the recorded information to keep tracking of the students progress.

Abstract: To assure product quality, an early warning and inspection system to predict the variation (trend) of a products quality (i.e. the product thickness) in the manufacturing process is necessary. Here, a manual online measurement of a production line installed with an online automatic warning system that will prevent manually accumulated errors from occurring is presented. Using this system, a quality trend profile will be made. The abnormal trend distribution will be obtained by randomly selecting the period of the quality trend profile and translating it into a time distribution bar chart. The monitoring online system will be pre-warned via the abnormal trend distribution. A products thickness can be obtained using a linear variable differential transformer (LVDT). The analogue signal will be transmitted to the AD converter of the PLCs analogue input channel. The digital signal will be transmitted from the series port to the remote PC via the web control unit. A profile of the products thickness measured by the LVDT will be monitored online and dynamically exhibited in the web-based remote system by using an embedded Javascript, an HTML, and a web control unit. The upper/lower thresholds will be preset in the product thickness profile. In addition, the quality monitoring system will be pre-warned via the time distribution bar chart when the abnormal trend distribution occurs. Consequently, the web-base monitoring system can be extended to remotely connect to all the LVDT devices.

Abstract: The U.S. Institute of Medicine (IOM) estimated that 44,000-98,000 Americans die annually from preventable errors in hospitals and that the cost of deaths and injuries is between $17 and $29 billion U.S. dollars per year in the U.S. Knowledge that healthcare systems and processes may be unreliable and lacks a consideration for safety. Patient safety is a global challenge that requires knowledge and skills in multiple areas, including human factors and systems engineering [12]. Patient safety has received attention by international health organizations. In 2004, the World Health Organization lunched the World Alliance for Patient Safety. The World Alliance for Patient Safety has targeted the following patient safety issues: prevention of healthcare-associated infections, hand hygiene, surgical safety, and patient engagement2. This paper This paper presents a safety process methodology and system to reduce the safety gap of patient safety process. The aim of this study is to propose a Safety Process Innovation Methodology (SPIM) and implements a web-based new safety-oriented system that combines the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to determine essential safety when conducting process innovation for support patient safety.

Abstract: Competency-based Learning Theory (CBLT) emphasizes that learners are protagonists in the entire learning process. In order to achieve the predictive learning targets of learners, CBLT make much of the individual differences between learners, and use the personal adaptive learning route in the CBLT procedure with evaluation, feedback, and modification. This paper used CBLT to be a foundation of system design, and to apply the CBLT procedure to guide learners to study adaptively. Our system implemented from CBLT can provide a personal adaptive learning route to learners, and has the adaptively-guiding assistant learning ability to help learners to learn independently and adaptively. The results of the experiment indicate that the learners could learn in the system independently and adaptively without teacher involvement while the learning courses had standard range and could be classified to several categories according the content characters. The results of the experiment proved this Adaptively-guiding Web-based E-learning (AGWBE) System based on CBLT was an effective computer-assisted instruction system that could guide learners to study independently and adaptively, then to share the teacher’s teaching workload efficiently.
