Abstract: The Nahdlatul Ulama economic institution (LPNU) DIY needs data as soon as possible to be used as a reference in formulating policies in order to improve the welfare of its members. Researchers made the web-based NUEcon application for data collection on the NU DIY economy to help make it easier for LPNU DIY to collect data. The method used is extreme programming (XP). XP can accept changes with a short development time even in a small team. The test results show that NUEcon can help facilitate NU DIY economic data collection.

Abstract: In the last decade, the computing power of computers has significantly increased, which enabled very detailed and accurate numerical static non-linear analyses of reinforced concrete structures to be carried out using sophisticated commercial software. However, higher risk of errors, both in the calculation inputs and algorithm, is linked with the increased detail and accuracy of numerical modelling. For this reason, it is convenient to verify the results provided by sophisticated software using simplified analytical approaches. In order to provide a tool for quick and easy verification of results provided by sophisticated software, a novel web-based application employing simplified analytical methods has been developed by the authors of this paper. This web-based application is capable of quick and easy calculations of bending moments in reinforced concrete two-way slabs. For the calculation of bending moments, the Marcus Method is employed. This method introduces a correction coefficient to the Rankine-Grashoff Theory of Equal Deflections in order to account for the torsional restraints at the corners of the slab. These analytical methods are algorithmized and implemented using the JavaScript programming language. A graphical user interface for the input of data and for the interpretation of results is created using the HTML markup language. The novel web-based application is freely available and works on all common devices and operating systems. From the presented results, it is clear that the novel web-based application is quick, easily available, user-friendly, and intuitive. The web-based application can be used for the verification of the calculated bending moments during the design of a reinforced concrete two-way slab.

Abstract: This paper describes the design and implementation of the Pusat Pengajian Diploma Industrial Training Online System (PiTOS), which was designed to be a user friendly, generic, web-based system to ease accessibility to all vital information related to students’ industrial training in a more organized and efficient way in a paperless environment. The solution we developed is a web application, written using PHP and utilizes the MySQL as the database management system.

Abstract: There are several studies for developing web-based CAE applications to substitute existing
CAE applications. CASOW is the web-based CAE system developed by the author. The approach for
implementation of the system is to use fundamental technologies, for instance, HTML, HTTP, CSS
and so on, because we cannot know whether new technologies will be alive or not. Certain
technologies bring specific advantages to the applications, but a life time of the application would be
short. Recently a great advantage of web interface is developed. Such a representative application is
Google Maps which doesn’t require any special software components; however the application
realizes interactiveness of the application. The technology is called Ajax which drastically overcomes
the bad interactiveness on the web browser. On the other hand, high efficiency of analysis work with
high performance computers produces many kinds of knowledge and a large amount of information.
We are confronted with inefficient knowledge and information management in the network system.
This paper presents the new web-based CAE system using Ajax and knowledge sharing framework
with compatibility to web interface. The system is presented, and advantages of the interface,
effectiveness of the API in the system and knowledge sharing framework are discussed.

Abstract: We have been developing an advanced general-purpose computational mechanics system,
named ADVENTURE, which is designed to be able to analyze a three dimensional finite element
model of arbitrary shape over 100 million Degrees Of Freedom (DOF) mesh. The one of main process
modules for solid analysis, named ADVENTURE_Solid, is based the hierarchical domain
decomposition parallel algorithm and employs the balancing domain decomposition as a solution
technique for linearized equations. The ADVENTURE_Solid has been successfully implemented on
a single PC, PC clusters and MPPs with high parallel performances. Since the software has become a
quite large system, it is not easy to install or operate the system on parallel machines by users. In this
paper, to operate such a system from a client PC through the network, the Web-based CAE system is
developed.

Abstract: To satisfy the increasing requirements in the collaborative development and price
quotation for injection mould from the customers and companies, this paper presents a web-based
cost estimation system of injection mould which can aid mould designers to evaluate the different
design alternatives, implement the collaborative development of injection mould, and provide a
reference for mould quotation. The overall architecture of the system based on a logical structure of
four layers is established. Approach to cost estimation for injection mould is described in detail.
Furthermore, a java-enabled solution together with the JESS 4.4 expert system shell and Microsoft
Access 2000 is employed to develop such a networked cost estimation system. Finally, an actual
example is given to demonstrate the use of the online cost estimation system of injection mould. The
practical results from engineering application indicate the system can provide an effective and
feasible tool to aid the evaluation of design alternatives and price quotation at the early development
stages of injection mould.
