Abstract: With the advancement in telecommunication in indoor environment, the use of wireless technology for information systems has drastically increased. The intensive use of indoor wireless devices in 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz ISM bands causes mutual interference in neighboring networks which degrades the system performance. Secure personal communication within such wireless networks is also another important problem. A band-stop frequency selective surface (operating in the WLAN frequency band) which is attached to the walls of buildings can provide a solution for these interference and security problems. In this work, a new band-stop hybrid frequency selective surface element consisting of two circular looped type geometries is introduced which is capable of attenuating the incoming 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz ISM signals minimum 13dB for all polarizations and incident angles varies from 00 to 450. Besides, a periodic cell size (p=26,5mmm) which is almost one fifth of the first resonance wavelength is obtained.

Abstract: This paper presents the dual piston-shaped monopole antenna for wireless communication applications. The analysis of optimization parameters used the empirical method and simulation technique with CST program. The design of matching impedance of proposed antenna is 50 ohms. The applications of prototype antenna are RFID, WLAN ( IEEE 802.11a/j ) and WiMAX ( IEEE 802.16e ) system. The simulation results show the bandwidth of proposed antenna is 2.93 GHz (2.80 – 5.73 GHz) by the average gain is 4.27 dBi and radiation pattern is omni-directional.

Abstract: Mobile wireless communication is the fastest growing segment of the communication industry. However, it is faced with the challenge of providing reliable high-speed communications due to channel impediments which change over time in unpredictable ways. To analyze the reliability and performance of real communication system, the Rayleigh fading channel is generally applied to simulate the real wireless communication. In this paper, we analyze and implement a flat Rayleigh fading channel based on the inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT). The simulation results of level crossing rate (LCR) and average fade duration (AFD) are shown in this paper.

Abstract: The Institute for Sustainable Technologies – NRI in Radom, together with Silesian University in Gliwice, have developed a group of mobile robots [1] intended for support of rescue actions. The group consists of two big robots: Explorer for exploring the environment and Transporter for transporting the number of small robots – Pathfinder (Fig. 1). The Explorer robot is capable of monitoring the environment in terms of temperature measurement, measuring the concentration of gases in the atmosphere and collecting the samples of soil. The Transporter is capable of transporting small robots and picking small objects as it is equipped with a container and a robotic arm and its purpose is to move small robots as close to the hazardous place as possible. Small robots called Pathfinder are intended to penetrate the area such as the room on fire and find potential victims or just allow the reconnaissance. All robots are equipped with one or more cameras and audio system for duplex communication. All the functions require the reliable and fast method of communication with enough bandwidth for the transmission of full duplex audio stream next to the simplex video stream and duplex control data stream. In the first part, the paper presents the brief overview of the market-available technologies for wireless communication; the second part presents the practical comparison test of selected products; and finally the last part of the paper describes the selected solution together with discussion on its capabilities.Fig. 1. Two of the group of four robots: small inspection robot and big transporter robotOne of the characteristic features of the designed group of robots is its low cost of production and maintenance, therefore the components used in the robot system could only be standard available constructions, but as the tests show, it is sufficient to fulfill the minimal requirement of range of at least fifty meters inside the typical building. Out of the considered communication equipment one of the commercially available Wi-Fi access point showed to be appropriate for the proposed application.

Abstract: Wireless signal reflecting, scattering or refracting causes the generation of multipath effects. Multipath causes multiple copies of the same wireless signal, These copies to different path to reach the receiver. The signal generated by a copy of the same produce serious interference. MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology can make the interference caused by the multipath significantly reduced. In this paper, in the context of indoor and outdoor, through TP-LINK-WR845N (MIMO 2*2, which have 2 launching antennas and 2 receiving antennas) to verify the superior performance of this technology under indoor condition, at the same time we discover that the MIMO technology does not increase the coverage under outdoor condition, because there is only the power gain, no diversity gain.

Abstract: With the rapid development of mobile communication, the GPS (Global Positioning System) which provides real-time global positioning system has not been able to meet the needs of the indoor accurate positioning. Through simulation, this paper implements the method of indoor three-dimensional positioning based on RSSI compared the positioning accuracy under several kinds of noise. We achieve the good indoor three-dimensional positioning method with the combination of cost, positioning accuracy and positioning precision through the filter and secondary positioning which establishes special propagation model for various different environments.

Abstract: 60GHz wireless communication is a promising technology for multi-gigabit communication in future home networks. It brings possibility of achieving in-door high-definition multimedia applications with high-speed and low-delay experience. However, to maintain the network connectivity with 60GHz links, which are susceptible to propagation and penetration losses, is a major challenge. The quality and robustness of 60GHz links can be effectively improved by employing relay nodes or cooperative nodes in the network. In this paper, taking into consideration the directional transmission character of 60GHz system, we conduct performance analysis and simulations for the 60GHz cooperative communication system. Two cooperative forwarding approaches are analyzed and compared, and the optimal position of the cooperative relay node is proposed.
