Abstract: In this paper, many kinds of wool fabrics are listed, main factors effected wool fabric appearance and the possibility to redesign are discussed. By analyzing famous designers’ innovative works, some principles for wool fabric are found. Several innovative express methods that suits for wool fabric, such as texture reconstructing ,silhouette building, additional decorating ,combining and crocheting and so on are the emphasis of this study . All of these will provide glorious inspirations for fashion designers.

Abstract: In this paper, the wool fabric was dyed with Red Pigment secreted by Ginkgo Biloba Endogenous by direct dyeing and the dyeing process was optimized. The fabric was evaluated from k/s and fastness in this experiment, and a better dyeing process is: temperature 80°C,pH 3, dosage of sodium sulphate is 5g/L, dyeing time is 60 minutes. The wool fabric dyed in the optimal conditions, had 4 to 5 levels soaping fatness, 5 levels rubbing fastness and 2 to 3 sun-shined color fastness. In the experiment, it is Confirmed the red pigment with antimicrobial properties.

Abstract: In order to study surface structures and properties of wool fabric, plasma treatment, grafting and plasma combined grafting treatment are studied in this paper. The structure of samples was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Furthermore, wetting time, grafting ratio and whiteness were also investigated.

Abstract: In order to analyze the influence of dimensional stability on overfeed sewing shrinkage of wool fabric, the paper used theoretical analysis equation to evaluate and overfeed sewing shrinkage of wool-type fabrics and took water shrinkage as index of dimensional stability to analyze its influence on overfeed sewing shrinkage characteristic value such as connection length, fabric connection length ratio. The research revealed the relationship of dimensional stability and overfeed sewing shrinkage, and derived calculation method of oblique shrinkage based on analysis of warp and weft shrinkage. It provided the theory reference on sewing quality of wool fabric in apparel manufacture and use.

Abstract: In this paper, a flame retardant dimethyl-2-(methacryloyloxyethyl) phosphate (DMMEP) was applied onto wool fabrics by graft copolymerization technique in water media. The paper discussed the technological conditions of the formation of wool-g-DMMEP such as the pH value of reaction, reaction temperature and time etc. The weight gain of wool fabrics was chosen to be the indicator of optimized technological condition. The results showed that DMMEP treated wool fabrics have high limiting oxygen index(LOI). Wool fabric with weight gain 4.27% has high LOI 34.6%, which is hard ignited in air. Char residues of DMMEP treated wool fabrics are more rigid and solid.

Abstract: Wool fabric was treated with homemade natural tea pigment to endow anti-ultraviolet property. Research results showed that the anti-ultraviolet performance was improved significantly after treatment and the UPF value was increased with the increasing of the pigment dosage. Adding metal ions can improve anti-ultraviolet performance in varying degrees.

Abstract: With the increase in the environmental protection consciousness of people, attention has focused on plasma technology because of its efficiency and environmentally friendliness. In order to improve the dyeing behavior of wool fabrics, surface modification of wool fabrics was carried out using an atmospheric pressure (argon) low temperature plasma treatment (LTP). Morphology and chemical composition analyses of the treated wool fiber surface were carried out by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The effect on the surface properties of wool fabrics treated for different times was evaluated. The results showed that the coloration of wool fabric is improved with an argon atmospheric pressure low temperature plasma (LTP) treatment but the fabric has a lower color fastness to washing and rubbing. This results from the formation of sulfonic groups and the increase in nitrogen content attributed to more severe etching and oxidization on the surface of wool fibers.

Abstract: A process has been developed to impart permanent paper press finish to wool fabric using the pressure decatiser. This involves developing a new wrapper fabric with appropriate smoothness, strength and steam permeability. The processing time is similar to that normally used in the pressure decatiser, thus in comparison with the conventional Paper Press finish, the processing and labour costs are significantly reduced.

Abstract: In this paper, the extraction of rhubarb dye and the stability of rhubarb dye to heat and acetic was investigated. This paper investigated mordant dyeing of the wool fabric with metallic ions Fe2+,Al3+. And the single-factor experiment method and orthogonal experiments were used to study the optimum conditions of pre-mordant dyeing with aluminum ion. As a result, the stability of rhubarb dye to heat and acetic was very good. The optimum conditions of pre-mordant dyeing with aluminum ion was the bath ratio of 1:25, dyeing temperature of 90°C, ph value of 5, and the concentration of aluminum mordant was 5 percent of the fabric and the concentration of the natural dye rhubarb was 60 percent of the fabric.
