Abstract: Virtual enterprise or e-manufacturing is an advanced and effective manufacturing mode to modern manufacturing enterprises. In these modes, business process has been extended to outer enterprises, i.e. inter organization workflow. In order to achieve a efficient tool for workflow modeling with both simplicity and semantics, matter element is applied to construct a matter element digraph, in which a node is matter element. Then manufacturing service based workflow model can be dynamically changed or composed by matter element transformation. A case is studied to explain the approach presented in this paper.

Abstract: Workflow simulation plays an important role in successful implementation of workflow management. However, workflow simulation usually requires a certain amount of expertise and is used by simulation modeling practitioners rather than business analysis specialists or enterprise managers. So, it is prevented from becoming a mainstream analysis and evaluation tool of a workflow. In order to apply simulation to analysis, evaluation and optimization of the workflow performances, workflow process model for simulation is firstly defined and formalized. Then an approach of translating workflow process model into GPSS simulation model is presented so that workflow simulation model can be built automatically according to the workflow process model. Finally the supporting software tool system has been developed which shows feasibility of the proposed method

Abstract: Establish an environment-independent process flow definition for Business Process Management that can realize the common flow chart conversion with the help of flow engine. It adopts a browser-based client-side development mode to realize friendly flow user interface, and has the role-based task allocation mode and the user’s allocation-based task allocation mode, which can implement the system with the datasheet-based flow monitoring and the graphics-based flow monitoring.

Abstract: Process modeling of Cooperative Product Development (CPD) is the key of CPD process
management. Analyzing the process of developing production based upon Petri Nets, referring to
workflow management and combining with parallel project, a new workflow modeling method
based upon layered timed color Petri nets is invented, which supports the developing of the model
production that parallels CAD/CAPP. Finally taking the developing CDP of model product as an
example, workflow model has been designed and has been inspected and verified in the software
platform.

Abstract: Collaborative Product Development (CPD) is an advanced paradigm for product
development, which focuses on facilitating the business collaboration across organizational
boundaries. The process of CPD is highly dynamic, and needs to be implemented jointly by
participant organizations. Firstly, this paper analyzes some traditional workflow modeling methods,
and reviews related research work on workflow modeling for CPD. Secondly, a process-view and
Petri nets combined approach is highlighted. At last, a novel process management framework is
proposed, which provides an effective and universal way to manage the dynamic and distributed
process of CPD.

Abstract: The Manufacturing Grid domain is characterized by rapid and substantial change over
time. The entire process of product development can be quite complex. The activities are expected to
be executed on heterogeneous resources which are geographically distributed. However, traditional
modeling systems use static workflow models which can not automatically redesign the business
process and mask the isomerism of the resources. In this article, an open and extensible framework of
MG workflow is given, which complies with the standard of WFMC and GGF. A formalized
definition workflow model is proposed including process model, organization model, resource
model, and service mode. The integrated workflow model can be used to dynamically represent a
business process and other aspect s of Manufacturing Grid workflow.
