Research on Immersive Virtual Assembly Technology

Considering the conventional products development is a sequential process, many assembly problems can be fully exposed only when the actual produced products are during the process of assembling; the immersive virtual assembly of man-in-the-loop is proposed. The principle of this VA is put forward firstly. the environment, key techniques and application of virtual assembly are researched. Based on the Catia V5 and virtools, a prototype system of virtual assembly is built and validated. The result indicates that this system is able to apply to engineering.
