Advances in Functional Manufacturing Technologies
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
The primary goal of this special collection is to communicate the latest progress and research results concerning new theories, technologies, methods, equipment and so on, in the field of advanced manufacturing technology, and to explore the updated technological and research trends driving international communications and cooperation with respect to production, education and research in this field.
The major topics covered include: Innovation and Experience in Manufacturing Systems and Technologies, Materials Science and Technology in Manufacturing and Administrative Skills in Advanced Manufacturing etc. It thus constitutes a useful and timely guide to the subject.
Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: The 216 papers selected for the August 2010 conference present recent progress in materials science for manufacturing, administrative skill of advanced manufacturing, and innovations for manufacturing systems and technologies. The Chinese contributors investigate friction coefficients during warm deep drawing of magnesium alloy sheet, topological synthesis of planetary gear trains, the effects of cutting fluids on the machinabilty of glass BK7, and the stamping of car panel parts. Other topics include optical 3D measurement systems, surface toughness forecasting for mixed-powder pulse electrochemical polishing, information technology adoption in rural areas, and cooperative models for Chinese higher education. Small b&w photographs are provided.
