Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: Shengyi (National U. of Defense Technology, China) compiles peer-reviewed papers selected from the 941 submitted for the MEGM conference held November 19-22, 2010, at the Hunan Institution of Engineering. Disciplines represented include mechanical engineering design, green manufacturing technology, applied mechanics, and sustainable materials. Among the timely research papers in volume 1 are: a novel model relating to oil recovery methods when well pipe casings are destroyed; the application of artificial intelligence algorithms to optimization of metal-forming processes; a new launcher to improve the firing accuracy of weapons; and a measurement method for energy- saving compressed air power applications.
