Finite Element Analysis and Structure Optimization on Light-Duty Truck Driving Axle Housing

The strength and the stiffness of light-duty truck driving axle housing were analyzed by using the finite element method. The stress distribution and the dangerous section were obtained. The result indicates that there is an obvious stress concentration region in the body of the driving axle housing. The local stress of driving axle housing can be reduced by the improvement of local structure.
