This special volume presents the latest advances in the science and technology of high-performance ceramics in China. More than 600 valuable original contributions were sifted, using a strict peer-review process, to yield the more than 229 manuscripts included in this collection. The contributions covered almost all aspects of the field including: functional ceramics, structural ceramics, processing of ceramics and the evaluation of ceramics.
The volume will certainly be of great interest to scientists or engineers working in the field of high-performance ceramics.
Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: Selected papers from an August 2009 conference, 463 in all, are presented here, highlighting the latest research in the science and technology of high-performance ceramics. Papers are not grouped in sections. Some topics include thermoelectric properties of SiC matrix composites prepared under a low sintering temperature, preparation and optical properties of titanium oxide nanotube arrays by anodic oxidation methods, thick film metallization of AlN by reactive binders, a new technique for testing abrasion resistance of refractories at elevated temperatures, and optical properties of single-wall silicon nanotubes.
