Fabrication and Piezoelectric Anisotropy of PFCs

PZT fibers were fabricated by extruding a mixture of PZT powder and sol. 1-3 piezoelectric composites and AFC were fabricated by arranging-cast technique. The piezoelectric anisotropy of piezoelectric composites was characterized. For PZT ceramic disk, the value of ktkp, the piezoelectric response was mainly in thickness direction. The sensing and actuating experiment of AFCs indicated that the anisotropy of piezoelectric response was also obvious. The signal intensity of piezoelectric response was stronger in the direction of fiber length in both sensing and actuating experiment.
