The Involvement of Coloring Agent, Cu, and its Effects on the Optical Performance for Color Glass

The paper presents the study by changing of Oxidizability –Reducibility of mixed batch glass material and changing the quantities of Coloring agent, Cu, in glass melting. The analysis of Spectrum Transmittance and Chroma Index have been carried out on the different sample plates obtained in the glass melting. The test results indicate: The wavelength T≥52.73% shown by the transmittance of light for the glass in the following conditions: a) When the value of COD of mixed batch glass material was equal to 473.06( i.e. the quantity amount of CuO in percentage is 0.3%) . b) When a= 0.596 and b=6.560 was shown in the Chroma Index of glass. The wavelength T = 10.33% at lowest shown by the transmittance of light for the glass in the following conditions: a) When the value of COD of mixed batch glass material was equal to 160.23( i.e. the quantity amount of CuO in percentage is 0.3% as well) b) When a= - 18.039 and b= - 9.178 was shown in the Chroma Index of glass.
