Abstract: Cementitious coefficient β_{t}* *was introduced to reflect the comprehensive effect of fly-ash quality on HFCC strength. On the basis of *β*_{t}, actual water-binder ratio [*W*/(*C*+*β*_{t}F)] and ash-binder ratio *K* was proposed, and the strength calculation model of HFCC with specific design age was established. On the basis of economy principal, the formula to determine K was founded. Influence of the design strength of HFCC and β_{t} on *K* and the content of fly ash was analyzed.

Abstract: In this paper, a new and simple method for deriving the formulas of Relativity is introduced. Einstein derived the formulas of Relativity by applying two hypotheses about light velocity, but this process was rather complicated and hard to understand. Nuclear physics has been developing for nearly a hundred years and has accumulated plenty of experiment results. Now it is feasible to derive Einstein’s formulas by employing the experiment results of nuclear physics. According to the result that energy is an expression form of mass, E=m can be obtained. We differential the above formula, adopt several steps of simple mathematical calculation, a simple differential equation can be obtained. Take the result of “light velocity is the velocity limit of a moving object” as the boundary condition of the differential equation, we get energy formula and mass formula. Length formula and time formula can also be easily derived based on the experiment result of particle speed in a cyclotron. As all the formulas of Relativity in this paper were derived by applying true experimental results from nuclear physics rather than hypotheses, they are reliable and easy to understand.

Abstract: Abstract: I type horseshoe with flat–bottom evolved from standard I type horseshoe cross-section. It is composed of a flat-bottom and three arc sections. It is commonly applied in the field of hydroelectric engineering. The normal water depth computation equation for I type horseshoe cross-section with flat–bottom tunnel is a transcendental equation and no analytic solution. In this paper, based on the mathematics transformation for the basis equation and the relationship analysis between the dimensionless normal water depth and the relative parameters, a direct solution is established for the calculation of normal water depth for I type horseshoe cross-section with flat–bottom tunnel according to the fitting principle. This method overcomes the shortage of other iterative trial calculating methods, such as complex calculation step, depend on the special chart and curve, and existed serious error. The formula is simply and the maximum error is less than 0.3% under the general engineering design range (ratio of normal water depth and arch radius is between 0 to 1.4471). it can be used on the engineering designing practice and the edit of the handbook of hydraulic structure design.

Abstract: Based on the elastic deformation theory, the formula to compute density of saturated cohesive soil in different states is derived by comparison of the strain stress relations in different states and conversions between soil parameters in three states. The density of saturated cohesive soil in Ningbo area under different states is measured by centrifugal model test. The feasibility of the computational method is verified compared with model test results. In practice, the corresponding density can be determined according to the moisture content variation of saturated cohesive soil so that waste of soil samples is avoided.

Abstract: The interaction between tunnel surrounding rock and supporting structure has been deeply analyzed by using elastic-plastic theory, and the higher strength and durability of supporting structure made by selecting reasonable supporting structure and adopting high strength concrete as material has been proved.
