The paper introduces the significance of applying reliability technology to railway products and the basic methods and steps to apply reliability technology to the design of INTRCO long flatcars of wagon. These methods and steps include analyzing first the System Safety Assurance of the wagon system applying in an operating environment, detecting the weak parts and offering improvement, building a reliability logical model and a mathematical model for the wagon system, predicting the reliability of the wagon system, analyzing and summing up the results, identifying the shortcomings and proposing suggestions for improvement.
