Numerical Simulation of Temperature Rise of a Direct-Driven Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Wheel Motor with Experimental Verification
To evaluate the thermal behavior of a direct-driven axial flux permanent magnet wheel motor, a simplified equivalent model of windings was proposed， which can also be applied to assembling air gaps between components. The temperature rise of a direct-driven axial flux permanent Magnet wheel motor was calculated and analyzed using the equivalent model. The results show that the equivalent model simplifies the temperature calculation of motors, and the accuracy of the proposed model is verified by prototype machine tests.
