Extraction of Tiny Crack for Magnetic Ring Based on Wavelet Transform and Morphology

This paper presents a method for extracting the tiny crack on the surface of magnetic ring. First, the magnetic ring image is decomposed, enhanced and reconstructed by applying wavelet transform and enhancement function. Then, the discontinuity of crack is removed by morphological operation and the crack image is extracted by using masking technology and threshold technology. Finally, the algorithm proposed in this paper is analyzed and verified by experiments.
