It was recalled that a new scaling approach had recently been proposed for the conductivity spectra of ion-conducting glasses. This approach was based upon the condition that the shape of the spectra was universal. It was shown here that this condition was usually not fulfilled, but that the shape depended upon the glass composition. In single alkali glasses, the frequency dependence of the conductivity varied with the alkali oxide content. The mixing of dissimilar alkali ions led to pronounced changes in the shape of the conductivity spectra.
