Electron spin resonance and electron nuclear double resonance methods were used to characterize a new Mo5+-H center, with C1 symmetry, in reduced :Mo-doped single crystals. The electron nuclear double resonance results also confirmed that, for a recently reported W5+-H center in ultra-violet or γ-irradiated Li-doped crystals, an observed superhyperfine interaction resulted from a nearby H nucleus. A comparison of spin-Hamiltonian parameters revealed the similarity of the Mo5+-H and W5+-H centers in this material.
