The lithiation of n-type monocrystalline (111)-oriented specimens, via direct reaction with n-butyllithium in hexane solution, was carried out at room temperature. This process was monitored by using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope techniques. Resistivity and Hall coefficient data permitted the change in Li concentration to be evaluated. It was deduced that the Li diffusivity at 298K was 1.09 x 10-8cm2/s.
