Paper eintragenIt was noted that these materials had a face-centered cubic lattice and that, below the Néel temperature, magnetic ordering was associated with a distortion of the cubic lattice. Although this distortion was very slight, it reduced the crystal symmetry. Because the cubic crystal had several equivalent directions which could become distortion axes, the crystal underwent twinning below the Néel temperature and split up into several macroscopic regions (so-called T-domains).
