The magnetic susceptibility of samples which contained isolated Au impurities, in various charge states on substitutional sites, was measured. A paramagnetic moment, which could not be detected by using electron paramagnetic resonance methods, was found for the neutral impurity, Au0. There was no evidence of a paramagnetic moment for the charged impurities: Au- and Au+. The results were in agreement with published models and data.
