It was shown that the melting-temperature approach was quite successful for treating the pressure dependence of the self-diffusion coefficient in solids at various temperatures. The approach was also capable of yielding the activation volume and compressibility relationships as a function of pressure and temperature. Calculations were performed for Na, Pb, Cd and Zn.
