A marked effect of Cs(l)-doping upon the conduction of the -phase, and upon the -to- transition, was revealed by using differential thermal analysis and conductivity methods. The results were explained by assuming that an increase in the defect concentration occurred, due to a decrease in defect formation energy that resulted from lattice distortion.
