The total electrical conductivity and transference numbers of the -phase were measured as a function of temperature and composition. Both Ag and Cu ions could be mobile in this phase and, in addition, the activation energies for each mobile ion were almost the same. Structural refinement of this phase showed that both Ag and Cu ions vibrated at the 12d site, with a large anharmonicity, although the lattice constant obeyed Vegard’s law. It was concluded that both mobile ions followed the same conducting path, even though their anharmonic thermal vibration amplitudes were different.
