The tracer diffusivity of O in La1-xSrxMnO3, where x ranged from 0.05 to 0.20, was measured as a function of composition, temperature and O partial pressure. It was found that the diffusivity could be as low as 10-12 to 10-11cm2/s at 1000C. Corresponding ionic conductivities of 10-7 to 10-6S/cm were estimated from these diffusion data. A negative dependence of the diffusivity upon the O partial pressure suggested that a vacancy mechanism was responsible for O diffusion.
