Ordered Li0.61Ni0.96O2 ceramics (R3m, a = 0.2837nm, c = 1.417nm) were prepared by sintering for up to 11h at 700C. The crystallite size ranged from 80 to 200nm. It was found that, as the sintering time was increased, the crystallite shape became more distinct, the degree of cation ordering increased, and the conductivity sharply increased to up to 0.20S/cm at 30C.
