High-angle tilt boundaries in polycrystalline tapes which had been prepared by co-evaporation were studied by means of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. Possible structures were proposed, for = 17 [001] and = 5 [001] grain boundaries, on the basis of geometrical boundary theories. By comparing electron microscopic observations with image simulations for the proposed models, specific atomic configurations for these tilt boundaries could be deduced.
